If you were wondering what you could use to tune your new 2011 tC with. We now have the Descendant plug and play harness and AEM FIC available for you to turn up the hp with.

I'll risk sounding dumb to get the answer...

Is this what I think of as ECU software? Does this work with naturally aspirated engines or just turbo charged? What kind of power increases can I expect?

Thanks

No dumb questions here thats how we learn, first off this can be used to tune N/A and turbo tC2's. As far as the HP gain its really difficult to give you a specific X amount of HP for N/A tC since no one has tried to tune one yet. Now if you were trying to squeeze the most amount of HP out this new 2.5L engine this would have to be the way to go, for best results it would be best to tune with supporting mods such as: intake, header, crank pulley, full exhaust system, etc..... Once internals become available you can build the engine as well. As for a turbo tC2, I'm sure you've seen our thread here in the forced induction section of our kit, which made 333WHP @ 302TQ at 8-9psi after minimal tuning, just to give you an idea, hope that helps and let me know if you're interested on any of our items for the tC2, thank you.

Does an upgrade like this negatively impact fuel economy?

Ok, I hate to turn this into ECU: 101, but what's the install like on one of these? Where is the ECU actually located?

EZ install. The harness is 100% plug & play, then you run the 2 FIC connectors thru the fire wall & plug them into the AEM box. We mount our AEM Fic besides the OEM computer securely underneath the dash.

The AEM FiC set up is something you would want to dyno tune for the best results. We are getting ready to run a N/A tC2 on the dyno with our new short ram intake & 2.5" DESCENDANT exhaust and we are hoping for somewhere between 12-15WHP after its fine tuned. I'll post the results once we have them.

Update on SRI, 2.5" cat-back exhaust and AEM FiC tuning results?

In all we made about 11-13 WHP depending on how you look at it. Call me at the shop for more details...otherwise, I'll be posting all the dyno sheets as soon as they are all gather up & scanned.

Hey guys, I'm going to bump this thread with a question.

I'm getting pretty close to being finished with 'power' mods. I've got a CAI and cat-back installed, and I'll have the NST crank pulley installed whenever that is available.

Now considering adding this FIC and getting it dyno-tuned to finish it off.

Is this kit from your site the one that we are talking about in this thread?

Is there anything that we need to purchase with it to make it compatible with the tC2?

I might be missing it, but where is that harness? And what would that run us? Any AEM FIC/tC2 harness combo deal?
