i dont think theres anything you have to do before you buy everything. just save up the money buy and install. i guess depending on how much hp you want depends on if youll need internals or not. but at 10lbs max boost (on standard) you shouldnt have do anything to the motor. and 8lb max boost for automatic

Advice to follow...

I am going to save you time, money, headache and heartache...

Don't do it...

Go sell your tC and buy something AWD/RWD with power potential. I am saying this as someone who has a turbo tC. Do I like my car, yes. Is it fun watching the faces of Mustang GT guys as I blow by them on the highway, absolutely. Do I wish I would've sold it and bought a C5 Vette or 350z or sti, yup.

Understand this, if you are still interested in a turbo setup for your tC, it will cost you about 10-15k to set it up correctly, ie clutch, lsd, suspension, exhaust, etc.. Plus ALWAYS keep enough for a new engine in your savings (about 1,000-1,500)*trust me I know from experience. Then if you wish to go above 350whp expect to spend ALOT more money.

Now if you are still want to turbo the tC the best place to buy all your stuff, and get it installed if you live near them, is PTUNING. These guys are great.

I disagree with this ^

Personally, I would much rather buy a $20,000 car and put $10,000 into it making it fast and my own than buying a $30,000 car that is exactly like every other $30,000 car. If you buy a Bolt on Turbo, and don't try to push it past 300hp, then you will not have any problems. It's the people who get power hungry trying to go 320hp, then 335hp, then 360hp, that eventually cause problems.

Bad advice to follow ^^^^
First of all corvettes start at around 60k
Stis around 40k
370 40k
Tc 20k plus turbo 5-6k for small power making close or equal to same power as ^^^ (& about 5-7 k for internals if 500+ whp is desired ) if we wanted those cars we would have bought em ... If anything maybe a rwd like the frs or 370 would be better if you don't care about your tc all that much bc they are better platforms for high power bc there is way too much power lost with Awd cars plus they are heavy ... But since we are all here on this forum I assume we all love our tcs & would never betray them lol I myself am in love with the new styling of the tc2 so mean looking almost a muscle car look wouldn't trade it for anything in the world unless I was considering tracking a car which then I would pick another for that purpose ... I would start as mentioned above if you want a big power gain go with a turbo bolt on kit which includes everything you need to make 300-350whp safely ... That should keep you happy & toe to toe with all those top dog cars out there only other thing I would suggest is better clutch flywheel & wheels & a/t cooler if auto ) know anything more then 350hp I would highly recommend forged internals as a must to push your car over 450++++ super car territory ... Now not to burst your bubble but to go big with our tcs you must spend money on suspension to handle the power our cars just weren't built to high power specs that's why we build our cars which to me is that a true tuner car is built not bought ... But nothing is impossible so I'd say another 3-5 k on suspension ... Not to mention all the wonderful and amazing things ppl do with the interior & exterior
Other then that as mention above an LSD will help if you take it to the strip & dig races & turbo back etc ... & if you build it right it shouldn't blow up that's what wanna be Honda boys do is build an amazing high power turbo setup with a crappy built engine which equals boom !!! Just take your time save up & do everything right the 1st time & don't push your car pass its build limits ... & heck if your willing to spend this much money on a tc might as well do a v6 swap lol can't wait til someone on here does one

His doesn't run. Dumping money into your car won't get you there. Building a car takes knowledge and not just deep pockets. Anyone can drive an sti off the lot.

many people would hate on your sayings, but i actually agree as i have a 2012 tc and went through the same ____, so to those who wanna go turbo DONT do it unless you wrench and can get a kit for cheap.. i.e. a used kit which i actually reccommend. currently my car is stock? do i miss it being turbod? no not at all lol my stock tc is plenty of fun and i have a new addition to my family, my s14 with an rb25 in it ))))

so go get yourself a second car for around 10k if ur gonna spend that much on turboing your tc.

A boosted tc is as good as any other boosted car ... 240, civic , mustang etc ...but only as good as the tuner if you build it right & don't try to go above the capability of your car you should be happy with it regardless of what others think ... Like I said b4 I'm pretty sure everyone on here is here bc they love there tc & have choosen it rather then an sti EVO c6 etc so boosting it is thy ultimate f you to anyone who talks smack about our cars ... But the above users do have a point unfortunately .. a rwd car is better only if your a drag strip junky and a Awd is better if your at the track every weekend ... But for the average Joe which is probably everyone here a tc is a top of the food chain fwd right under/next to the civic si & would make a blast as a daily with a turbo to drop jaws all day long

this argument has many faced sides and darwin you have a very good point bud, however, every car does has a maximum point, or a range of which you can push it, most stock turbod cars wont have any problems with that since the motor was designed and made to handle the constant boost whereas the tc 2ar/2az was not meant to handle boost. howeveerrrrr when ANYthing done is done properly, you shouldnt sweat a single drop

The only thing I don't get is why a tc with low boost can make more wheel horse power then a brand new sti & EVO fresh off the lot ... That must say something.about our engines

they make a litttttle bit more. its because of the size of the turbo in the stis and evos. the vf48s in sti's are not as big as the t3's that go in the, for example, descendant kit. the turbo is huge compared to the stock turbos. however, this leaves them with much more play area than us tc guys since they can easily up the boost a notch and tear us limb by limb. howver lol ive won against a new gt mustang(5.0, 420 bhp) ive owned a new sti hatch and wrx, a civic turbo, gti, gli, and a few more. the tc is a jaw opener haha so many people were shocked when they heard my wastegate opening up.

and i ____ u not just cuz im stock and have moved onto my mext toy doesnt mean ill forget about the SL community. i love you guys no homo.. maybe a little homo but still lol jk.
