Turbo Build Starting Point

Turbo Build Starting Point
Well I just picked up my baby last night, god is she beautiful lol. Black 2011 of coarse. ANYWAY, Ive been researching many option for her and turbo is the way to go but I have a bunch of questions that Im hoping you can answer.
1. How much can the internals SAFELY hold, boost wise and whp wise?
2. What 1/4 mile time's would I be looking at with a safely boosted motor?
3. Besides the actual kit and 3" exhaust upgrade and tune what else is needed to do this build the right way?
4. Anybody know of any legit tuners in or around NY?

1. According to Descendant and GReddy, you'll start getting detonation @ around 350whp. GReddy started getting transmission issues @310whp, however, keep in mind that their car is a Time Attack car and is raced consistently. Both companies told me to stay within 10-12Psi at max. Exceeding the 12Psi would require a fuel pump upgrade, and building the bottom end. The World Motorsport's tC2 race car is running the stock head with over 600 at the wheels, so you'll be fine with the stock head. I'm at 290whp @ 10-12Psi at the moment.
2. 1/4 mile times, depending how well the tune is, can get you into the 14's or mid 13's with the right tires and execution.
3. Unfortunately, no one sells a 3" exhaust at the moment. The one on the World Motorsports site is 2.5" and the GReddy RS Exhaust is 70mm (2.75"). You can probably custom make one for under a grand (if you do it the right way with good materials). Besides the kit and exhaust, not much else is "needed". A wideband O2 sensor to monitor air/fuel ratios, and some gauges (boost mostly)to keep an eye on stuff for the tune. I ended up getting an oil pressure, boost, wideband afr, and a water temp monitor. If you don't want to spend the money on a ton of different gauges, I'd go with some cheap ones, or at least an AEM Wideband UEGO. The GReddy Informeter is nice because it can monitor 6 parameters at once (you just have to buy all the sensors for it).
Upgrade the clutch, as well! OS Giken and ACT both sell clutch kits for the tC2. I wouldn't worry too much about a flywheel for a turbo car (the flywheel on your car should be good enough since its new). I went with an ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate, and 6-Pad Spring Centered Disc. The stiffness takes about a day to get used to and the chatter is kind of loud, but other than that, the response is nice, quicker catch and can handle more power.
4. I believe there's a shop in New York that World Motorsports East took one of their tC2's to. I'm sure if you check out something posted by Rob or Kareem you'll find it.

I haven't done any official timing yet. I went to a private airstrip a couple weeks back and was timed at 1/8 and 1/4 mile hash marks. The times are irrelevant since they weren't properly recorded. I imagine I'd do 14's or high 13's at the track with better tires.
On monday, I'm putting in a new Turbocharger (Garrett GTX3076R) for faster spool and reliability, 255lph Walbro fuel pump, a Mishimoto Performance Radiator, and a Tial QR BOV. Hopefully, I'll break 300 on the Mustang Dynamometer.
p.s.
I'd also recommend an oil cooler kit.

I have Descendant's kit on my car with the Side Mount Intercooler:

I bought the kit when it was still relatively new, since then, they've worked out the kinks in the system. They also offer some turbo upgrades (Precision Ball Bearing Turbo) which I would recommend to anyone boosting through descendant's kit. Turbonetic's 52mm or 55mm has a bad reputation for early leaks, which is why I'm upgrading. I have 850cc Injectors, not the 750 they have on the site, as well.

im runnin 8psi and on the dyno she hit 318 with a slipping clutch and she seems to be holdin strong with the clutch, havent dragged but at my local time attack track i shaved almost 5 full seconds off

What dyno did you use? I'd imagine in a Dynapack I'd be pulling around that, maybe higher since I'm running around 10Psi.
With the work being done on it, I'll be at 12Psi. Just hoping I'll be under 350whp. Both companies, GReddy and World Motorsports, said they had detonation problems around there. Would take about a month of shop time to build the bottom end and a ton of money, not including any parts.

Havent ran drag yet, I still have stock tires that dont grip as much as ide like and my stock clutch is slipping bad, I have an act six puck ima put in this week along with wider/better tires ill post my times after

Ya I also turn it up to 10 at the track and its safe but no matter what you will have to get a better clutch descendant is the only place I know of that has em, and I have a k and n air filter, an hks ssqv bov, and world electronics boost controller and aem guages, and swift springs soon to be replaced by kw coilovers and trd strut tower bar and a few cosmetic, painted rims and hids

Ide look into some kinda tranny upgrade, and install was fairly simple theres a dyi vid from descendant obly issue I had was the vaccum lines and the air/fuel guage, took a couple days cuz we had a few snags, bolts broke and what not but with no snags woulda had it done in a day
