Both are fantastic kits, so it's up to your personal style preference. PTuning offers larger downpipe size (3") while Dezod is slightly smaller (2.5"). Dezod's customer service is exceptional and their support for the scion platform in general is beyond anything anyone else could provide. Both companies have been doing this for many years and both are great to go with. You should honestly worry more about who and where you will tune the car with afterwards.

Hey Paul I know this doesn't relate to forced induction but I was looking at the performance short block on the site and I just have a few questions.
I was just wondering how much of a performance gain do you receive being n/a from getting it done if there are any specs on it that you may know.
If there is any stats/specs is how much psi would you think I would be able to go up to with the upgrade to the ARP Head studs and main studs when I do go turbo?

That last question will be heavily contingent upon the setup ran, fuel ran and tuning.

No real gains from short block and nothing else added. The setup encompasses stronger internal components (bearings, pistons and rods) for more reliable power through a power adder like N2O, S/C or turbo.

I suggest you do some reading and learn how to actually turbocharge an engine. Then you, will be able to answer all these questions yourself.
What you will learn is that there's no such thing as plug-n-play bolt-on turbo kit. Even a pile of parts that fit perfectly is only 5% of solution. Bolting it all in correctly is the other 20%. Depending upon your power and durability goals, you may need to disassemble engine to replace pistons and con-rods with stronger forged versions.
By far the vast majority, +75% of cost and effort will be in the TUNING of final package once you get it all assembled. This involves LOTS of adjusting fuel and ignition maps for optimum performance. Pick any TWO:
- powerful
- cheap
- reliable/durable
But you can't have all three...
Reading List:
Forced Induction Performance Tuning - A Practical guide - Bell 2003 Haynes
McLaren-Honda Turbo: A Technical Appraisal - Bamsey 1990
Maximum Boost - Bell 1987 Bentley

Performance Tuning Theory & Practice - Four Strokes - Bell 1981 Haynes

Where to buy?
Planning on buying a tc2 within the next week here, wondering if there's actually anywhere to get a turbo kit. Doesn't need to be new or come directly from the manufacturer, but every single kit or recommendation I've seen is just not buyable anywhere. Couldn't find ptuning, dezod, descendant, or atp, thinking about rev9power.... If anyone has an suggestions on where to buy one of these at, I would really appreciate it.

answer is no. you're more likely to find a unicorn than turbo kit for TC2z
