Default 2011 speakers

Hi all
Looking to know the speaker depth for the doors.
Its kind a cold out right now to start tearing them off to find out up here in Canada.
What i want to do is put a 8" in the 6x9" location if there is room, for up font bass.
I already have installed a kenwood DNX 9960 and have a PPI Ax606.2 driving the factory speakers and they don't like the PPI power!!
Any help you can give me would be great.
Thanks Tony

What about the bazooka for oem? Aren't they roughly 8inch long? I heard good reviews on it.

is it verified that there is a sub in this car? where is it? i hope for the system's sake that there isn't one, because if there is one it's pitiful.

The 2011 tC does not come with a subwoofer in the rear.

Speaker-wise, it is equipped with tweeters, mids and the 6x9 "woofers" in the doors, and two mid-rangers in the rear.

I will see if I can find some time this week or next to bring one into the shop and pop out one of each speaker for ya and measure the depth!

Why thank you ever so much.
The weather is a little to cold out right now for me to start trying to guess how the door panels come off.

Door panels are actually really easy to get off. Three phillips head screws. Pop off the plastic cover behind the door release to find the first one. Pop off the the silver, plastic cover on the door handle (if you look close, there's a hole where you can put a flathead screwdriver in) to find the last two. After that, just pull. Plastic clips come right out.

I turned "on" the subwoofer option on the Apline prem stereo...and was shocked.....suddenly all this bottem-end appeared in my ears. I was confused cause I didn't think it had a subwoofer. So, it must be reproducing it thru the woofer/speakers. Which as of now,.....seems decent to me.....but I'm a metal head. I don't need tons of hiphop thump. I sold my 10" bazooka and used that money for a 64gb flash drive for my music in the car (vs. Ipod).

The subwoofer setting only controls the sub rca preouts for an amp you may add. That's why it's under the 'connection' category in the settings. If you don't have to sub and amp installed and connected to that preout, that feature does nothing.

Quick question, sounds coming out from stock Alpine vs with navigation unit. Are they the same set of speakers?

Default factory speakers

The factory changes the deck and the speakers stay the same.
the 6x9 is riveted in place .
You can put a 8" in the 6x9 location a 4" in the middle and a average 25mm tweeter up top if you wish to change them out for SQ sound.
Minor trimming of the back of the door panel and new mounts for speakers is needed if you good with wood or steel.
If not a really good 6x9 " high end 4" and good tweeter with the 4 and tweeter running of a passive crossover will improve the sound and would be a straight switch .

Hey guys i'm trying to understand this setup. IS the pioneer deck 8 channel? 6 Channel or 4 channel?.. Like is there a cross over in the door that splits the sound?

I'm trying to see if it makes sense to buy a component set or just pairs of speakers.

Thanks!

Highly doubt it's more than 4 channels. Crossovers must be at work. I'd just get speakers.

Tweeter mounts to the door.
6x9" amp under front seat.
Rear side and door 4" and tweeter off deck power.
The pioneer deck is a 6 channel deck with 4 of them being powered and 2 being RCA outputs.
Hope this helps ???

so the back of the deck has RCA's for the 6x9s and separate RCA's that are unused for a potential sub?

Absolutely true. Just to keep it simple though, since you are interested in full-range speaker replacement, the deck has four full-range channels. I'd just buy new speakers and leave the factory crossovers.
