Default Dash/Trim painting

If i were to remove some dash pieces and paint them, how do I make the texture smooth. I notice in some build threads that people have painted their dash and it looks very smooth, unlike the rough stock dash pieces. And what type of paint is best?

I think some of the older tC2's have smooth-ish panels around the stereo and other bits. I just dipped mine last weekend and it does still have the textured look. But I am ok with that.

you will have to stand your dash first to make it smooth. or wrap it with something thick (and smooth) like real carbon fiber

Could prob use some fiberglass filler, or rubber bumper filler then sand that smooth.
