My wife has a '13 TC and we have recently started having issues with the hatch opening. If you push the button on the outside you can hear the electronic mechanism working. However the hatch will not open. If I go inside and reveal the mechanism via the small access hole on the plastic, I can pull down on the latch with a flathead screwdriver and the hatch opens. Now, when I open the hatch and hit the button the mechanism doesn't come down as far as I pull it down to manually release it. And it only stays down for a few seconds and retracts.
Does it sound like maybe the motor for the mechanism is failing or is there something that I am overlooking?
