That's what the website says. Any car with 12x1.25 and reverse lock can use this.

I actually contacted blox awhile back to figure out the diameter of the opening of the bottom of the **** and it will not fit our reverse lock.

Don't worry there is no such thing as a dumb question, only inquisitive idiots. Just kidding!
Rotate the **** in a counter-clockwise direction until is comes off. Simple enough.
Something else to think about is that an aftermarket reverse lockout might be slightly less diameter (TWM shifter) and thus might fit a reverse lock compatible **** that is too small for the stock tC shifter.... like the blox. If I think of it, I'll measure the top of my TWM and the stock shifter to see if there's any difference.

k0ntr0lledka0s: The reverse lock is part of the shifter assembly. It's just a piece that fits around the shifter and is kept down with a spring. You don't need to remove or replace it to change the kn0b.
I did measure last night and there is a small difference between the top of the TWM RL and the stock RL that slides up and into the kn0b. Don't quote me on this because I used a cheap gauge, but the TWM is about 31/32nd of an inch wide and the stock is just under 1 and 1/8th inch wide. From the pictures I've seen, the FR-S/BRZ's RL looks a little thinner, but no way to tell without measuring.
So to recap, if you upgrade to a TWM shifter, any kn0b that has the correct thread pattern (12x1.25) and has at least a 1" opening on the bottom should work. If you keep the stock shifter you'll need a kn0b that's at least 1 & 1/8th" wide on the bottom.
Or you can go the custom route like no skatehate said and get one from LatheWerks.
Honestly, I'm very satisfied with the TWM shifter and M1 kn0b. I know their stuff is pricey as heck but it's also made really well and they provide good instructions. Big bonus: I didn't have to research all day to see if it was going to fit!

Edit: I just looked at the flossy site, specifically the Grip Tape Shorty (BLK), and here's what they say, "THIS 6-SPEED CAPABLE **** has the reverse lockout needed for most 6-speed vehicles".
Meaning that it has a gap big enough on the bottom to accommodate most RL shifters. If I were you, I'd still email them to see if it works with the tC2 since Scion is not listed as a choice on their page. And if they're not sure, you at least have the specs to send them now so they can check. ;)

Twm makes a type r and a big type r. I have the big type r it's like 600 grams or something like that. I absolutely love it.
It's expensive, but worth it
