The raised step in the driver door cup holder was a perfect fit for mine. P.S. Sorry for reviving this weak thread

Do you get good reception down in there? Up by the roof, I can open my garage almost half a block away!

OK…I couldn’t hold myself back any more…I completely geeked out and went high tech! Here is my garage door opener in the form of a HomeLink® in the rear view mirror. This is a Gentex 50-GENK51A. It comes with an auto-dimming rear view mirror, compass, HomeLink® and outside air temperature. There is another model out there that also has map lights in the bottom of the mirror (50-GENK62) but I could not find any. This is what it looks like…

If I had a garage I think I would mount the opener under my HVAC like I did with my subwoofer controls. Quick and for-the-most-part hidden area.
Also, 2tC... that looks great. How much that mirror cost ya?

There's a mod I found on this forum about five years ago that worked great for me. Basically you wire your garage door opener to your high beams. Then you just hit the high beams to open the door. It doesn't get any cleaner than that.

I'm back after a long hiatus from this site. My sister totaled my 07 TC last week, so I'm looking for new rides.

That would be very cool if you only had one door...I've got 2.

Thread revival so i'll share. I mounted mine in the dashboard and put a switch in one of the blanks. It's easy, all you do is get a button from radio shack and solder it in parallel with the button in the opener. If you have one of the newer openers you can just run it of of it's standard battery but I have an older one(that runs off of a 12 volt battery) so I got power the cigarette lighter. It only works when the car is on but I never have to worry about the battery.

[Sorry to post on old thread]
What the hell is up with our thick visors. I suppose its from the sun block extenders, I better find a use for those suckers. I havnt yet.

Anyway attached is a photo of where I posted my opener. I just reach down with my left hand that i'm not using and inconspicuously press the button.
3M emblem adhesive is the bomb.

I posted mine similar to the picture above.
I took Velcro and placed it inside my cup holder on the door for my garage/gate opener. Works like a charm

I always put mine right next to the hand brake, in-between the seat and the brake. Works great!
