Default Looking for a quality Cargo Cover..

I am looking for a quality cargo cover for my 2012 tC. I ordered the OEM part when I bought my car new. When I saw it was a thin piece of fabric, rather than a vinyl type
cover like the one on my Ford Escape, I told them to remove it. The OEM part attaches to the seats with some jive velcro straps and is so thin that it is almost transparent.

Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket cover that is decent quality? Thanks!

A beach towel with your favorite scantily clad (body painted preferred) super-model works for me...

...jive velcro straps......that's gotta be the best description of a crappy component ever

I have this one, but from what I hear it's hard to find these. (It's from the dealer by the way, and it is in no way transparent. Toyota charged me $200 for this, does it's job by covering my subs and any other goodies I got back there.)

Thanks Ryan5x - that is certianly an upgrade over the POS they tried to offload on me for $75. However, $200 is pretty steep compared to $110 for my vinyl retracting cover on my Escape. Maybe svsveng is onto something if it can be had for CDN 80.

No problem. It was steep, but to me, it did it's job and it was currently the only thing available when my car was bought back in October of '10. P.S. I bought this in the states at the stealership.

Hey svsveng - can you tell me where I can get one of these for CDN 80? I'd be happy to mail order it at that price. Thanks. TomCat

HOLD UP!

The $80 one that svsveng is talking about is the new design, not the one that Ryan5x has. Ryans is the original version of the cover.

OK - even at the higher price, I am still interested in the heavier cover. Does anyone know where one can be found? Thanks.

That would work nicely for me, too. I can't seem to locate one, so I am still looking for the cover.

I tried calling the Vancouver dealer that I was directed to. The parts department person at the dealer had no idea what I was talking about (but was very helpful). She promised to look into it and call me back, which she never did. Like you, I remain interested, but have no idea where to find the heavier cover.

I called TRDSparks today and they said 64910-21070-B2 is discontinued here in the US of A, too. It looks like only a few select lucky buyers will own one. If anyone knows a place that still has these in stock, I would appreciate you letting me know.

Update

I found the heavier cover like the one Ryan5x posted today. The Toyota Los Angeles warehouse is out of stock and the part was verified as discontinued by several dealers I spoke with. If you want one of these puppies you better move fast as only a few dealers in the U.S. still have them in stock.

I dont know if maybe you can go the route of tinting the rear window. I know the visibility might bug some people but it is a great alternative to the cover. Also you can go to your local stereo shop and pick up a section of stereo cloth for super cheap. i did that for a minute before I tinted the windows because nothing was available for the first 6 or 8 months the TC's were out .
