You can buy 100 different shift *****, carbon fiber crap for your dash, gear shift mods, leather appliques- but you cannot get a single decent cargo cover. They used to make a decent one and now all you can get is the cheap looking flimsy one. What a jip. So much for being able to mod your car. It's not even like this is just an option- I actually need this.

Default hard cargo cover

do a google search for this part #: 6491021070B2

there are a few dealers who still have it. It originally sold for $199.99. I got it for $106 + $23 shipping from Village Toyota out of Florida.

Can you take pictures of it in your car? I have never seen one. Only the ____ty floppy ones. The dealership can't confirm or deny it being the one in pic or the ____ty one. If I can atleast see yours I'd definitely have Toyota order it.
177 in alaska priced, kind of a big chunk of change to risk.

thats all im waiting for, as soon as you post a pic, im definitely getting one. the one you posted looks very nice.

Edit, Not a single warehouse, dealer etc has a single one in the country. They dont believe it was ever made tbh, scion of village florida doesnt have them either, he will be calling people back and letting them know. only the flimsy one, im going to get a custom one made. will post more later.

If you indeed get it, and dislike it. I will pay you another hundred + shipping for it. (As long as shipping isn't another hundred)

I cancelled my order too, i spoke to some guy named Rod or Rob from the parts dept and he said that they have a new part number. He no longer has this part either and the new one is "Cheaper". i told him its the cheap flimsy one i dont want it and he will refund me immediately.

I emailed village toyota with 2 questions: 1 is it the original part that got discontinued, and 2 do you still have it in stock?

The email I got back simply said: "yes that is the part" (no punctuation, no greeting, only 1 answer when I asked 2 questions, very UNPROFESSIONAL).

So I decided to try to order it, since I was sure that they would have let me know if the part wasn't in stock, RIGHT?

I ordered it, and a day or two later they cancel my order. Horrible company, poorly run. Don't give them any more business, guys.

EDIT: I also emailed around a bunch of other places that have that part number listed on their websites. At least the other places were kind enough to email me back letting me know that the part is out of stock, so i didn't waste days ordering from them and waiting for a cancellation.

Does anyone know anywhere that still has this cover in stock?

Hey, is this the same cover? I am looking for one myself and found this link while I was referencing this thread.

Edit: I'm pretty sure this is his car, and he found some cargo covers after they discontinued them and is reselling.

This sounds like a great business opportunity for some manufacture. Even a carpenter or a plastic fabricator would be able to sell the cargo covers. I have a 2015 Scion and the thin flimsy cloth
that snaps onto the inside of the cargo area is really not enough. I see many tC owners complaining of this cargo cover or lack of that with just a little investment a business will be able to sell these covers.

I would like to have some plastic or wood cover over my trunk area to keep prying eyes away from whatever I carry in there.

No, both of those links refer to the same cheap cloth cover that I bought. $65 what a rip-off, just for a Scion logo. It's only about 2 bucks worth of cloth.
The "Ryan5x" cover is a much heavier material.

This might be what your looking for. I would call the vendor first.

Just get some thin wood from Home Depot or Lowes and some cheap speaker box carpet from eBay and make your own. That's what I did, and it came out great. I also had LEDs mounted on the bottom of the cover, but I haven't wired them up yet. If anyone is interested, I can get the measurements I used and post them here.

Nice work. I am interested!! What did you do to keep it in place? Did you get it to sit into the OEM cargo cover slots?

Yeah it just rests on the protrusions for the OEM cover. I normally keep my rear seats leaned back, so the cover just touches those. The hatch keeps it from moving as well. Its pretty snug were it sits. I'm at work now, so I'll wait till I get home tonight for the dimensions.

Default DIY Cargo Cover

I got a little frisky over the weekend. I made this myself and wrapped it with trunk carpet I picked up at a car audio place.

It has two painted metal 5/16 dowels at the bottom with a little electrical tape wrapped at each end. The washers were used for a wedge, so that it snaps in to the OEM cargo cover bracket.

I ordered a strip of LED lights that I will be mounting on the stationary side that sits against my seats and will be wiring it into my trunk light (so it comes on when I open the hatch) in with a 2-wire quick connect I picked up at Radio Shack so that I am able to remove the cargo cover if I have a full trunk.

It measures 41" wide with a couple of bevels on the folding lip and roughly 18" deep.
