Default OEM+ Audio

So they finally got their site done, looks like a pretty decent product and the price isn't too bad. Has anyone heard their systems b4?

fyi, if u have an aftermarket radio...they told me the get the best sound u can contact them for the perfect calibration (the system's calibrations are specifically tuned to the factory settings of the tC2 HUs)

for me, i'm going to try to contact these guys and maybe i can just visit their HQ for some fine tuning on my pioneer p4300dvd

Thanks for the heads up....could you be more specific on how it sounds though. I'm used to building out custom systems on my own so a little skeptical to go with a pre fab set up. I like good clean crisp sound with tight bass that shakes your body if need be. Would have been awesome if they made it a dual 8" system...one on each side, maybe in the future!

Good to know, I have the Alpine Deck with the smaller screen, I guess I'll hold onto it then if I get the OEM system

about the single-sub, they told me that based on their designs/research/structure of the cabin...1 sub is enough

the sounds its pretty much exactly as their motto...crisp, clean, clear
the vocals are tuned perfectly...no static, no rasps, just as if the artist is singing right in ur car

there is bass....but not obnoxiously loud that ur car sounds like a tin can with the screws rattling out. so loud/hits but without the rattle (and no need for any sound deadners)

i guess think of the perfect home surround sound all inside ur car

also improved audio in the rear thanks to the added tweeters for the rear speakers

the install isnt too hard either, plus it all works with the warranty that comes with the tC2

whats ur aftermarket deck? if its pioneer (even aftermarket) they also told me that it will sound good too. mainly since all the new 2012 scions are Pioneer only now. but like i said, to make it perfect they will help u fine tune it

The only possible way that this could be beneficial over third party solutions is if it's very competitive in cost.

That's just how I look at it.

Although the 8" sub enclosure that's specifically fitted to the rear hatch empty space is quite interesting. I'd have to hear it in person to see if it's worth a damn.

What I dislike about the stock 6x9 combined with the small amp under the driver seat is that it is very overpowering without any sensitivity adjustment nor does it even act as if it has an active or passive low pass crossover used just for the lowend. It sounds very overpowering over the other speakers in the car giving the overall sound as if you were listening to a PA Speaker.

This OEM Audio Plus at least by passes that amp and uses the one they are offering to power the 6x9. That's another benefit.

MSRP:
$1,399.00

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I've never even heard of OEM Audio+ before. I can't even find any reviews of their work online. I would feel much more comfortable spending my money on a proven brand. Basically the only info given is, it sounds good.

they are a new company so there isnt any "reviews" if u check their page/facebook/youtube u can see testimonials

other than that...its one of those "u have to see it for urself" so look out for them at a car meet (however i think they are only so cal based...)

in addition to sounds good...
it works with the scion warranty (the 3yrs one)
easy plug/play install
adds tweeters to the rear (to make a total of 10 speakers instead of the standard
adds a sub with amp, plus a new amp for the speakers
the speakers are made out of carbon fiber

i'm not sure what other info u really need other than "sounds good" for a sound system

Well who produces it? Who developed the speakers? Was it a team of audio professionals in a workshop, or was it an 8 year old Chinese girl in a Bejing slum? What about the DSP? Is it custom made, or is it just re-branded re-tuned and re-sold? These are the details that I mule over when justifying my spent money

I watched the "testimonials" on their YouTube channel. They didn't impress me. A 10 year old at a festival saying it was really awesome, doesn't do it for me. And the rest of them just seem like they were offered a T-Shirt to say something nice into the camera.

Perhaps though, and most likely, I'm just being a cynical bastard.

i might be wrong on some parts because i'm going based off memory from when I talked to them last....but they are their own producers/developers and they have a team of pros specialized in the auto sound system industry.

also it all completely custom made...from the speakers/amp/wiring/sub enclosure

its like a custom made OEM system if that makes sense since they base all of their work from OEM specs of the car to improve the sound system from factory

about the DSP...i didnt ask, if i get info i'll let you know

@ the testimonials...i understand what u are saying. i was basically saying that since they are new...its the only thing there is really as close to a "review" at the moment

best experience is to see it for urself

...and trust me. i had my doubts when i first saw their booth/setup...but once i sat in the car to test it and talked to them, i completely fell in love with it

they have an iQ setup coming out too...(i tested it too) its pretty sick/crazy for a small car

Will this work on a 2011 tC (base/OEM Pioneer HU)?? They only list 2012 tC on their list. And this can only be ordered at the dealer? Is the $1399.00 just the system and not including installation? Or does it cost less if don't have dealer install it?? I couldn't find this info on their website.

it will work with the 2011 tC...the only difference is the HU, if anything just contact them on what is the best configuration on what HU u have

order via dealer or optomize scion

1399 is for the system only, dealer install is separate (personally i'd just go DIY)

the website is somewhat limited, its only like the second time they officially updated (completely new look)...and its just been a few days. i get most of my info from when i talked to them previously or ask them on FB, they usually respond quickly and honestly

That is a complete waste of money. It's no different than comparing BOSE audio being low cost hardware with a heavily inflated price tag based off the name.

You can buy good speakers individually and install them yourself for a fraction of the price.

The ONLY thing that's really custom is the subwoofer enclosure. Other than that the other parts simply aren't worth the money nor are they even all that custom.

Amp = 8chan 360 RMS (45wx at 2ohm = Lowend CRAP
Sub Amp = 130w at 1ohm = Lowend CRAP

You'd have to be an ignorant moron to buy into this stuff.

I just finished reading the entire thread and notice you took an entirely reverse attitude about this system. How did you go from "I'd have to hear it" to "this is low end crap"? Did you hear it? If so, tell me where I can go to hear it so I can form my own opinion. If you didn't hear it, then simply reading and quoting specs does not reveal the entire truth.

As someone who is a home audio guy, I have a different view of what I saw in the website. I've done many car audio systems in the past and my issue with the aftermarket is its no sure thing. Always a constant experiment and a crap shoot. I remember spending allot of money on processors and parametric equalizers and then spending days, if not weeks tuning the system to sound like my modest but clean sounding home audio system. This system on the other hand seems to cover all the bases.

With regards to the power ratings, I consider this system very similar to most modest home audio systems. In fact, some of the most expensive Class A power amplifiers costing $10 - $20k each, are rated at a modest 50 watts per channel. In contrast, car audio peeps are obsessed with numbers. No disrespect intended but its not only about the specs. You have to consider the other elements that ultimately influence the entire performance.

With this said, it sounds like you are knowledgeable about car audio systems. What would you recommend for a system? For example, I did research of the front speakers and no one makes a 3-way component set that drops in like this does. Dynaudio makes a set but it cost over $1000 just for the fronts! The shops I visited wanted to replace the 6x9 and tweeter with a JL Audio 6-1/2 component set and disconnect the 4-inch speaker. I was thinking this is not right -maybe that's just me. What do you think?
