Ok guys, match an amp for this speaker! GO!
I'm planning on putting this speaker between the front and rear seats, and I need an amp that will fit under the passenger seat.
I'm going for quality over volume here.

Do they have dual 4 ohm versions? Dual 2 gives you 1 ohm and 4 ohm wiring possibilities with a mono-block amp. I guess you could do a 2 channel but I'd rather do a mono if it were me.

150w x1 @4ohm. Wire voice coils in series then to amp. 300w max
I personally really like alpine amps so that's where I went first. But dual 4 ohm speaker would be a better design if possible. Most amps are designed to run at 2 ohm

Well I'm ok with a different sub if it has to be. I'm not the expert by any means. I just know I want an 8" shallow mount that will give me good quality over rattling my ball sack around, and also I'm not looking to spend a ton of cash either. So if you have a better idea for a speaker let me know!

No no kicker is decent. Don't get me wrong. Just dual 4 ohm would be a little easier to wire usually to a mono block amp. 4 ohm wired in parallel gives you 2ohm going to the amp. That's where most amps are happy. The amp I linked would work well for you. Dunno how that fits into your budget
Now that I think about it, your speaker and a mono-block amp at 4ohm would have less distortion if your going for quality not volume. 4 ohm won't pull as much power from amp but its a small 8in do your not looking to set off car alarms. 2ohm tends to have a higher THD or total harmonic distortion(I think that's it) than the same amp at 4 ohm. Basically the music coming out of the amp is more accurate to the original unamplified sound when running at 4ohm than 2ohm but I dunno if that is really noticeable to the human ear.

Ok, well if you know of a good 4-ohm I'm all for it. I'm pretty open to ideas but just thought I would start with the basics of 8" and shallow but quality. Thanks again!
Also I just realized that particular speaker is a 6-3/4" speaker. WRONG! I meant this

Sure, I don't really have a preference but sometimes it's good to stick with all one brand. Let me know whatcha got.
And now I'm thinking possibly this speaker? It's 4-ohm, and personally I like the price. But if the Kicker is that much better than that's what I'll do.

I run this amplifier at 1 ohm for my 15" memphis c3.

If you found a dual 2 ohm version of the sub you're looking at, you could wire it to 4 ohms and have this amp push 500 rms to it. Slightly overpowered but considerably better than underpowering it.

So I'm sure this is getting old at this point. But let's start all over, you guys obviously know more than I know. I like JBL and I found this for a good price.
Now let's match an amp for that. Thanks again!
