Default 100,000 Mile Club

Just hit 100,000 miles in my tc last night. Curious to see who else has enjoyed their tc as much or more than I have

DAMN! I thought I had a lot of miles on my car...I'm just about to hit 60k.

Congrats man. Please, just as Penguin asked...I'd like to hear your take on how its reliability has been.

Well I bought a 100k warranty. So this thread should reassure me some.

Default 100,000 Mile Club

I replaced my first set of tires at 60,000 miles, and changed my pads and rotors at 85,000 miles, change plugs every 40-50,000 miles, change my oil every 5,000 miles, and put gas in it. Fuel mileage is still the same as usual, and crappy in the winter.

As for the aftermarket parts for those interested, I have TRD springs, TRD quick shifter w/ ****, NST pulley, torque solutions cable bushings, Injen CAI, and descendant cat back. I have never had a check engine light, leaky pulley, hydro-lock. Only the tpms light comes on in winter from my snow tires.

All in all it has been a fun little car. Just do your standard maintenance and it will treat you well... I mean it is a Toyota. My ultimate goal is to go 300,000+, and with how maintenance has been so far I don't think that will be much of a problem. The clutch is holding up, so I will be curious to see how long it does last. As for the tranny, it's still crabby when cold, and doesn't make any new out of the ordinary noises. Also for rust incase anyone is wondering, here's what ne Ohio roads do to cars in winter, and I don't have a spot of rust anywhere

I am moving to ohio next year. I change my oil once every 10k miles, does your 2011 call for 5k oil changes or no? Curious on that. Did you get any under carriage rust prevention applies to the under carriage?. Oil or that truck bed liner crap.

I ask because they offer it in ohio and I don't know what I want to do in ohio but I don't want it rusting from bottom up.

Well an early welcome to Ohio. Rust under a car up here is inevitable, so I've never worried about undercoating any of my vehicles. I feel like I'd rather see when my car is unsafe to drive, instead of finding out when it's too late. Just personal preference. Joys of salting roads and living in the rust belt. All of my toyotas didn't rust out and they were all 10yrs old with just about or more than 200,000 miles on them

Also for the oil it's my personal preference. I went 10,000 once and didn't like the color so I chose to start changing oil every 5,000 miles. Besides it stops me from having to check the oil as much because it stopped burning about 1/2 quart between an oil change. Also I need to put my car on jack stands every 5,000 miles to rotate my tires so it doesn't add much time to that

nice to hear! my buddy still doesn't believe when i told him about changing my tires around 60,000. he is used to hearing that tC's tires go around 25,000 or less due to heavy wear in city driving. I'd be very lucky if i get the same mileage out of my tires as you

very nice to hear that an NST or similar pulley does fine up to 100,000 and beyond w/o causing ANY problems to the car. you just sold me on one in the future.
how many miles about was that pulley on there for?

When is our real work needed to cars? Like Subaru's every 60 or 100k need new waterpumps belts etc

At what mileage is our costly repairs start coming in? Scheduled anyway.

I got 20k on my first set and the second set has about 6 now and It seems it will only last to 20 as well.

my stocks crapped around 25kish too...but that was because i lowered the car and didn't get an alignment right away (i was getting new wheels/tires so i waited on the alignment) i would have probably made it to 30-35 had i gotten an alignment or not lowered the car

also i'm on 48k owned for 3 years, 1 month, 3 days

I put the pulley on around 60k and it's been great since. As for costly repairs, my other 2 toyotas just needed timing belts at 100k. I also replace the water pump at the same time working or not. I never had any problems with either my 02 Avalon which was totaled at 216,000 miles by a kid running a red light, or my 02 tundra that I traded in with 186,000 just because it was 2 wheel drive. It will be interesting to find out what will be the first major repair.
As for driving so much, I just enjoy driving. I'll make a day trip to ride bike trails, or weekend trips to get away from work. I figure I bought a fun reliable car so I might as well enjoy it as much as I can. Also I have all types of roads to drive where I live. There's everything from city, highway, back roads, to back woods country roads. A lot of straights and windy roads, not to mention living in the snow belt. It's just fun to grip gears and push the car to its limits every once in awhile. This car is a tank, and can hold its own with anything that's thrown its way.
