WOW I LIKE... not my shade of yellow, but been wanting a yellow sportscar. can i trade in my tc2 for this? :D

 

Then what would make it unique? A kit that anyone could buy and install? An exhaust that can be ordered and installed on the vehicle? Or maybe a colour that anyone could get with the same interior as everyone else?

The idea of the RS is to do something the average consumer couldn't do. For the $2600 price bump, you couldn't add smart key and push button start, nor could you change your seats and restitch your steering wheel. You also couldn't paint your wheels or put on a factory painted kit. But most of all, you can't get a yellow tC.

The 5AD idea is cool, but no offense to Troy and the guys at 5AD, but the point of Scion/Toyota/Lexus is not to advertise for other brands... The Release Series is like a TRD package (remember folks, that means Toyota Racing Development, not Scion Racing Development), or F-Sport for Lexus. Its the Scion special package that not everyone can or will own, and that makes it unique.

I personally love it. I love how its creative stuff that no one here has done yet. Its not a cut and paste of a bunch of random aftermarket parts at a minimal discount, its a Release Series and its limited quantity. I'm reminded of the Mazdaspeed Protege. It came in a few colours, but none of which were colours you could get on a regular Protege. Or how about the Integra Type-R. Came in any colour so long as you liked white, black, or yellow. But best of all, they were both unique interiors, lip kits, etc. Now look at the value of these 2 cars...much higher than any other basic Protege or Integra. Why? Because they are unique and unique is worth a lot in this industry, especially when it comes from the OEM that way.

 

its almost the integra type r yellow...im actually really feeling this series. With the descendant racing exhaust, remove the black vinly from pillars, and some nice dark tints and fog lights i think this thing would really really stand out!

 

1stOne you do make a valid point but I'm sure many would agree that if they were standing next to a RS 7.0 and a FIVE:AD tC with lipkit, 5:AD Rims and TRD performance parts all bunched up in one package, they would jump on the FIVE:AD.

Yes, these are parts anyone can purchase but not everyone is into tuning their cars. Many, many people have no idea who or what 5:AD is let alone know that Scion is part of toyota.

 

I really like the gloss black wheels, honeycomb grill and the push button start.

How come it says TRD body kit, isn't that the 5AD kit?

 

Its alright, the only thing i like the most is the push button start.

I still say the best tC Release Series is the 5.0 cause of all that it came with. I'm not only saying that because I have one

 

Well I like the yellow and I think it is about time to come out with a different color. I think the wife and I may get one but we will see.

 

At least it's like a gold/yellow not like the old RS xB. The grill looks like the F:AD one on their widebody.

I thought there was a factory GFX out already, and the F-Axis, no?

 

There's going to be 2200 of them made. Is this 2200 in the States only or 2200 in N.A alone?

Considering tc2 sales didn't go well, I really hope this new RS sells..

 

I realllllyyyyyy want those rims they look so much nicer in black gloss. And the stock smoked tails....

 

All that it came with(on my RS 5.0) is slowly being switched out lol, started with the exhaust, then got coilovers, next is the wheels.

I'm waiting to check this car out in person before saying much. Push button start is nice though.

... I have had 2 yellow motorcycles, and a yellow jimmy... All three were involved in wrecks because people swear they couldn't see me... I am glad I did not edit to get mine or I would have got this...

 

yellow shoulda been on the last tC1 RS. so that orange could be on this one. it's a nice car tho. I'd drive it....all you kids arguing over this car.....

 

First tC2 i've liked so far. Loving the color.

 

As soon the TRD push start is out. I'm getting it...

 

The TRD push start button has been out, it's setting up a keyless remote entry that needs to be figured out and done.

 

Wait... Will the push button work on 6MT? Or is only for auto trans?? I have the MT.

 

You can set up a push button start on any transmission, any car. There's kits out there.

 

I really like this! The color is something that is different and you will definitely notice it. I was going to order a white 2011 tc but i might have just changed my mind.
