Yup. We tried to see what we could max is out at. We got it to 24 psi until stuff started breaking. Mazda's first AWD system was crap compared to Subaru or Mitsubishi. But man did it go fast. i just drove that thing into the ground.

nice. i am slightly surprised the engine internals could take that much stress. or did you build the engine as well to handle the power?
either way sounded like a ridiculous mazda 6.

why 19"? to look better?
they may look better but you're going to be slower than if you went with 18" rims.

either way they will be nice!

i have 19s on the car now and i love how they look. 18s are ok, but 19s just fill the gap a bit more with the trd springs i have.

that pic looks boss.
i really like the headlights in that photo.

I forgot to ask how do 19" ride? since the tire is thinner, do you feel the bumps on the road more?
I can feel them too much with the stock setup, can't imagine how bad it may be with thinner tires.
I am trying to choose tires for new rims too but I will stay with 18" to hopefully get the chance to run a thick tire for smoother ride.

i picked the same size at the TRD 19" rims with 235/35 tires. They grip way better than the stock 18s. The Enkei GTC01s will be wrapped in 225/35.

what i have been warned is that they may grip better in dry conditions but they aren't as good as stock in winter conditions or wet, and they add drag resulting in marginal loss of power. since you have so much power i don't think it affects you too much to notice, but it's just something to think about. you can corner faster on dry pavement but you're also slower overall than you could be with stock width.

I think your new wheel setup will do you good

still how well do the 19" take bumps compared to when you were stock? worse? better?

thats very true. since i get the great weather of california i can have the 19s on all year long. I do switch to my stock 18s when i go up to the mountains were there is snow.

When I hit a pot hole i feel it in my spine. any kind of small bumps on the interstate or elsewhere arent bad. big bumps is a lot more noticeable.

that doesn't sound too bad to tbh. I am glad to hear this car can still be very functional with 19" and be fast.

thanks. my other choice in rims would have been the xxr 527 18x9.75. I like them but i think they are a bit too wide. Not too big of a fan of the 18" xxr 522 either.

I like the 522 with the right offset
I also like the 521 but 18x10 I think is a bit much for me.

i know that the 18x10 xxr 521s work in the rear. and then get 18x8.5 fronts.... if you like a staggered look.
