Well in that case I want to save money on the 2011 model, so I hope a 2012 tc is real.

sumbish!! Nice job though. If I hadn't bought mine by now (3months old) I would have jumped on the RS7. Don't care for it as much as my SW, but it's an investment.

Though... maybe by the time yours is delivered they will have the TRD Supercharger done and get that as well! lol

^i heard TRD wasn't going to make a supercharger for the new tC. and i ordered a SW one on wednesday and had to cancel that and change it to this. but SW was definitely my next choice.

Forget the supercharger, shouldn't even be mentioned at all when talking of the tC2 since it will NOT happen/exist/magically appear/etc. etc. Even one of the Dan Gardner race tC is going turbo for efficiency for an endurance race.

Yea if I decide/ can afford to boost the car it would definitely be a turbo. Descendant looks like the best option out there.

I just wonder if the RS tC is the best car one could buy for the $21k. Isn't that around the same price as the 2.0t Genesis coupe? Turbocharged, rearwheel drive > NA, frontwheel for the same price imo.

Remember their is going to be the pure pricing program still available. If you qualify, you basically can walk out the door just by paying close to or slightly under the the MSRP.

Their will be a lease offering for the RS series, it will probably be around $279-$300ish depending on how much you put down, pure pricing qualifications etc.

I am to probably going to get the RS series through the lease program in August or September. The dealers on average get only 1 or 2 so they will go fast.

The only reason that it is expensive is because of the earthquake, limited, and some other things I don't remember. Scion is just now sending the rest of the 2011 scion tC's now. And your current retail on your 2011 scion tC when up also.

How did anyone place orders for this already? Input from the dealership employees on this? andcool69? Your input on how your order went? St. Louis dealerships are known for being Toyota guys trained to know enough about the Scion to sell it and that's it, so any comments on who you talked to and what they told you would be helpful.

I went out this morning and visited four different dealerships, and none of them had any information on the RS 7.0, or even knew what I was talking about, yet all four offered to take my $500 deposit in order to be put on a waiting list for when they got one in. No thanks. I came home and accessed the chat feature of the Scion site, and asked them, and they said the only people that could help me would be Customer Service Managers and even they might not be able to do much, but that the tC RS 7.0 was being advertised without an official release date, so no deposits could be made. I called a 5th dealership about an hour from my house and asked for a Customer Service Manager and told him my problem. He at least knew what a Release Series was, but told me that the Build/Release Calendar said "TBD" for the RS 7.0, but he was helpful enough to apologize for the confusion and take down my name, number, and email address and promised to contact me as soon as the dealerships were informed of further details on the RS 7.0. I'm ready to at least put my order in so that I don't miss out on it, but no one can give me solid details. How is anyone placing orders if Scion is telling me you can't place orders on them yet?

WelleslyScion, you were the one who attracted me to this website instead of St. Louis area Scion forums because I was looking for a "fix" for my fiance's single reverse light in her '11 that she just got, and I ended up reading your whole build thread. Any input on what I might be able to do in order to reserve a tC RS? I was hoping that since you worked for a dealership, and knew what a Scion was (lol), you might be more helpful than my local guys. I just want to buy the car, and Toyota isn't able to get me one/reserve me one. Not in St. Louis anyways.

PS: The Scion contact that I spoke with earlier told me the RS 7.0 was a 2011 model year. Not a 2012.

I called a local dealer in eastern pa the day scion announced the RS7. He said they should be here late august at the earliest but maybe not till September or october. He gave me all the information I asked for and was very helpful. He said they would be getting 2 or 3 in. They took my deposit of $500 and said as soon as he gets more info he will tell me. I will be getting the first manual one they get. When the dealer tells me more info I will be sure to post it up in this forum. And he also said the car is the 2012 model. Scion released all the info for the 2012 model on the same day as the RS7 so I assumed it was and the dealer confirmed this for me.

So this looks about as close to a TRD edition as Scion has seen so far, but somehow Toyota seems to have forgotten what the R stands for. Not a single performance add-on? What about better brakes, a tuned suspension, LSD, air scoop, something? This just screams all show and no go.

For $21k you could get a 6-speed Juke w/ two extra doors and a factory turbo.
