2015 Scion tc clutch replacement
I’m about to replace the clutch in my 2nd gen tC and am trying to figure out if anybody knows the easiest way to do it. I’ve seen people say you can do it without pulling the engine and I’d definitely prefer to go that route.
Hi,
I am in the middle of doing mine. It is not that difficult to do. I have a 14 TC. I also need to replace the input shaft bearings.
I did not have to take out the engine. I took out the transaxle. It is a lot easier. The only issue I ran into was taking out the driver side axle. I had to use a slide hammer to remove it from the transaxle.
On mine, the case was not clearing the frame and I had to rotate the transaxle case, to get it out. There are several youtube vide on it. Here is one.
.
I'm also replacing the flywheel and am looking for the torque specs for it and the pressure plate. So far I found 97 ft-lb for the flywheel bolts and 14 lb-ft for the pressure plate. Not sure how accurate these are.
How many miles are on yours?
I recommend looking at replacing the bearings as well. The back input shaft bearing is known to go bad.
Hope this helps.
