Default Agggh. I just pulled up in the driveway and already have complaints...

I came from a 2006.
Anyway I got home with my 2013 with 9 miles on it and While I am loving the bluetooth and smooth gears I am hating a few things...

1) Neither window has both Auto Up and Auto Down..whats with the downgrade?!?, I used this feature EVERY DAY on my 2006.

2) The glove box is BS. You open it and can't even see the bottom of it while sitting in the passenger seat. I'm destine to forget about alot of things I put in there. (Also I'm 6'2)

3) The armrest has only one opening as opposed to two. I will literately have to dig for my mailbox key every day.

Positives:
1) I like the Beep noise the car makes when you lock it. Like a BMW. I have always wanted a beep noise.

2) The clutch is like feather light. I'm used to having to us actual force when engaging the clutch in my 06.

3) How come the clutch has so much play. When I shift gears it is smooth and I only have to engage it what feels like an inch to change gears. There is so much more space beyond that one inch and the extra play is annoying. I plan on bypassing the clutch switch and putting in like a stopper to prevent me from going all the way down during gear changes.

I hopefully will get over these issues while I spend alot of time driving it and properly breaking it in.

whether or not you're planning on dropping a turbo in your tC you should get an aftermarket clutch, maybe stage 2 to get rid of the featherlike clutch and more responsive engagements

The sound is pretty good. I mean supposedly we have 8 speakers!! A sub would be a nice touch, but nice clear audio even from bluetooth.
I have mods for the clutch already in mind. I will keep it N/A so I will not be doing a clutch install but I cant believe how soft it is.

A good thing about the armrest is, that my dog always made markings on the cloth of the armrest on my 06. But I hope the plastic on the 2013 doesn't get burning hot in the summer lol; I'm about to find out! Also the 2013 Armrest is very spacious so I can add like a little cubby inside of it to put smaller objects. I'll make it MY car very soon

I will try and learn about the window module situation, sounds neat.
I'll also post a pic of the Car in its stock state (just a spoiler on it that I love).

Post pics of progress and the control switch module. I am personally throwing a TWM short shift kit when I get mine and a few other things, leaving engine and such stock. Pretty comfortable ride though overall?

Yea shifting gears is a little learning curve compared to the 2006.

I am so upset that when I turn off the ignition and open the door the lights do not automatically shut off. WTF Scion, what is up with all the tiny downgrades. All those small things are what my 2006 tC such a great car for $16,999.

Well I didn't try it taking the key out. Just turning the ignition off and opening the door. At home I leave keys in ignition.

At least the car will beep at you if you leave your lights on How thoughtful...

Does no one else have these annoyances?? Really? Who all came from a TC1?

You'll like it dude, i just wanted everything from my 06 plus new stuff.
Also, I took out the keys and no auto lights. You turn the lights on...you better turn them off.
FreedomP, keep in mind I'm only referencing small things. Things that may even be hacked to work the way you want. I'm still learning how to drive the car, i'm breaking it nice and slow like my 06 that ran like a champ until the day I sold it. You'll start to modify this car and you'll love it! Welcome to Scion.

Thanks for the good insight. I'm sure there's ways to make lights etc all shutdown when cars off.

Will definately follow your build thread.

I read a lot about rev hang being unbearable in our cars, is this true to yours? The gears shift fine and shift rev hang? I only was able to drive automatic tc on lots because that's all they had..

Yes, the revs do hang after letting off the gas. But if you aren't power shifting (i.e. shifting extremely fast for performance sake), you won't really notice it. When I'm just driving regularly I let off the gas, press the clutch, and by the time I've shifted gears the revs have fallen to exactly where they should be for the next gear. So it isn't really a problem unless you are trying to get the most performance out of the car. Even then the rev hang is not that bad. I remember it being worse on my 2007 tc.

Any new update after owning for awhile. Mine is getting here Thursday or tuesday.

Guy told me that to get 1k military bonus I have to finance 5k

Was ____ed, he could of told me that like months ago. Let's hope my credits is decent enough to get the smallest loan with shortest interest rate possible.

Well dont get the bonus?? Finance 5K then make a payment, then pay the ho off..
I love the tC. I'll post my mods and some pics. Its come a long way in just two weeks.
Shifting and braking is nice once you get the feel of it. I can't believe I already put 600 Miles on it! I'm breaking-in the engine nice and easy.

Wheres your pictures of your car?

I am going to pay 17k full, finance 5k for 3 months and pay off 5k in full early. so save 800 or so theoretically, not sure how to calculate it.

the mods I ordered with it

2013 scion tc
-trd quickshift
-scion illuminated doorsills
-auto dimming rear view mirror
-bespoke radio
-front back trd sways
-fog lights
-rear spoiler

Getting tint done on the back 3 windows 15% the same day I get it, and also the place that is tinting said they can put 3m Scotchgard on everything facing forward, entire fenders, hood, bumper, pillars, rear view mirrors, and cover the roof glass for 1000

^ does that seem like a bad deal? 5 year warranty etc.
Also sent TWM a message about ordering the cables and bushings for the shifter going to use it with my TRD shift kit. hopefully will feel super nice and firm. and then going to order weathertech floor mats.

(I really didnt mean to rant on) but kind of want your opinions on some of the stuff i just listed. Especially the paint protection stuff. Would you do it? total im going to be in 24k or so

^All of the mods you ordered you can get for less and save money DIY. Installing the front sway bar may be the harder install if you have to lower the subframe like the tC1, IDK. But all else can be done at home. If you're getting 15% rear tint I don't think you'd need an auto-dimming mirror, the tint should be good enough.
