Default Bike racks

Anyone here install a bike rack on their 2011 Tc?
Does the TC have an area to accommodate a bike rack like this one?

You're going to be better off finding something that mounts on the roof. It'd definitely be cheaper than a hitch + that rack.

Glass roof...no dice.

I've been looking at this too. Right now I put a moving blanket down inside the car, pull the front wheel on the bike, and place it inside the car. But, its inconvenient, especially when the bike is covered in mud.

Trunk racks wont clear the spoiler (if you have it) and the only option after that is a hitch. Thankfully there are options for one without drilling, so I'm thinking I'll go that route. At least with simple tools you can pull the hitch off if you don't need it.

Yakima's website matched up the tC1 to several roof-mounted racks so I don't see why the tC2 would be any different.

I've got a roof rack on my tC1. You just have to wait until Yakima figures out which clips to use and what measurement to set it at.

Remember, the tC1 and tC2 are extremely different cars. The glass roof is my understanding of why there isn't anything yet.

Yakima, last time I spoke to them, had no plans to produce. Maybe that's changed since I last spoke to them, but I'm not holding my breath.

check out etrailer.com. I just bought a hitch from them and it arrived today. I had one on my 08 Mazda 3 hatch and it fit perfect.

Which one did you get? I like the Draw-Tite from the photos and writeup.

That's the one I got. I think it was about 90 bones including shipping. For that price you cant beat it. I should have it installed early next week. I'll post some pictures.

I got the curt receiver and extension. I then purchased the Thule T2 with locks. The curt runs behind the bumper so I had to order the extension. Also, if you don't want it wobbling too much, you will have to drill a hole either inside the Thule or the extension. For some reason thule decided to put the receiving hole all the way out so it has a lot of play. I was gonna do it, then I got lazy.

The install was cake!!!!!! 15 min and I was done!
I bought this bike rack because of the slight raise of the tongue. My other car was a little low, so it made it better on steep driveways. Ill take a pic of my bike on it tomorrow.
