Lightbulb Blue Cement Build - (LEDs Swap & Questions 7-15-12)

Hey guys! I've been reading through pretty much everything on this site for a month or two now and in that time I picked up a 2011 Cement Scion tC. My names Jon, I'm 18 years old, I'm in the Central FL area, and this is my second car, my first car was a 95' Civic Coupe so it was a big jump to the tC. I plan to do a lot with this car and have already got started on a few little things, however, I'm in school and have a part time job, so the funds aren't always there, but I'm going to make it happen either way! So to start things off here's a picture of my old Civic and the new tC!

===================================================

Civic (don't worry, the rims were free and better than the rusted stocks, I wouldn't have them otherwise)

Can't wait to see what you do with it! What part of Central Florida are you in? I'll be at UCF in a few months

I'm in the Space Coast, about an hour southwest of Orlando, right by Patrick Air Force Base. I might end up at UCF if FSU doesn't work out for me in the next few months.

My dad worked at Doak Campbell when I was a little kid. He used to sneak me in to see Deion Sanders, Terrell Buckley, all the greats play there.....but I don't really remember it. What I do remember is my dad driving me to Louisville to see the Noles play for my 19th or 20th birthday and it was pouring down rain. Everybody in the stadium went in the tunnels and I sat in the rain getting soaked....just to see freaking Chris Rix throw an interception in overtime. Next play Louisville ran 25 yards FTW. Sorry, back on topic, nice ride.

I was honestly just going to run them down from the amp under the box. I got my wiring kit from a local shop and they were obsessed with the car and talked about doing a system with me, so in the future i'll probably end up going with something a lot cleaner and custom

Finally got the courage to tear my dash apart to swap everything out, it took a little time to get down the technique of working with the small LEDs but it all worked out! I swapped the gauges, the HVAC, the airbags, and the security lights and will be attempting the alpine head unit this coming week!

Here are some before and after pics (taken with my iPhone)

I'm going to be doing my DRLs this week as well and I was wondering if anyone has theirs set up so that the lights are always on while the key is turned (Accessory and Ignition) but without going through the firewall?

Also, while working on the gauges, the MPH needle snapped off (the top part broke clean off of the stem that holds it on). I just super glued it for a temporary fix, but I would like to buy a replacement needle just for security, does anyone know of how or where I can get one?
