Default clank noise from the brake?

So every morning I put into reverse and pull out my car and when I press brake, that is a one time "clank" noise coming (pretty loud, sounds like the brake pad hitting on some metal) from the driver rear side. I think it is normal because the pad is designed for heat expansion, so when it is cold the pad may have some movement within the caliper especially when im changing the direction (go forward at night when parking the car, reverse in the morning). The pad is hitting on the side wall within the slot.

Any ideas if I'm right or something else making the noise? Thanks

sounds like a stupid qustion but if anyone know that can give some comment? Don't know if I should take off the wheel and caliper and inspect the brake pad. or something else causing the problem

mine's doing the same thing when i'm braking on reverse... it doesn't bother me tho, so I just ignore it.

Never hurts to take your tC into the dealer or certified mechanic just to make sure it is operating as designed. ^AP

I agree with the comment above, u should take ur car to the dealership and have them look at it.. the reason why I ignored mine in the first place is because I already changed my suspension to coilovers. And with that if i bring my car to the dealer, I'm afraid they would just blame me the clunking noise for having aftermarket suspension installed.

I figured out the clank noise only happen in the morning when I'm braking on reverse or when the car is parked and cooling down for several hours. No clank noise when braking on reverse after the car has been driving for few minutes.
