Default Discontinued TRD Parts?

I called the TRD people directly to find out if the TRD CAI was availiable yet because on the Scion.com website it says "Coming Winter 2010!"

And the lady said that she couldent find it in the system.

So i called two dealerships near me and they both said it was discontinued and that TRD is good with that, releasing something and then suddenly discontinuing it.

So i guess the TRD CAI is gone before i could even get a price check D:

And one of the dealerships also said that he thinks TRD is going to discontinue the TRD exhaust because he only saw like 2 availiable for order and something about there not being anymore manufactured (80% sure about him saying that or something close)

SO! Can anyone shed some light on all of thisfor me? Because i was litterally just about ready to order and now all of this ):<....

Are we talking tC2? If so, it hasn't been released yet. Have patience, it's coming soon.

Sounds about right. Toyota was suppose to release Intakes and exhausts for the new Corolla and Matrix. I was suppose to get one for my Matrix two years ago and nothing came about so I had a shop custom make me an exhaust for my car. Much cheaper anyway and I got what I was looking for.

I think it's cuz of all the EPA bs. Toyota figures it's to much much of a hassle to make these parts that are 50 state legal so they're just not making them. Wouldn't surprise me if you'll have a slew of suspension and other pieces but nothing powertrain related. Hopefully the aftermarket will pick up for you guys.....if not, make your own.

Yeah tC2,

I went to the dealer again cause i accidently broke my sunroof shade's clip, and the guy that was there said the only thing he could think of why they would discontinue it was because it was loud and they were making a quieter one because they get a lot of complaints apparently.

But no info on the air intake still

The good news is i fixed the shade myself! :D!!

I never thought of the TRD axle-back to be loud at all, well when you've ran an aftermarket cat-back setup, for me Agency Power to compare, I would say the TRD is quiet. This is from a gen 1 tC owner.

The TRD CAI was never CARB certified for gen 1 either, so that shouldn't stop them from releasing one for the tC2.

Given the track record of many dealerships (including the one I use) and the record of 1stOne... I'd believe what 1stOne says.

Though I would be all about a 30-state legal version of these parts. Cut out the states (ie - California) that go nutty with the emission controls

Final testing on the CAI for tC2 is going on now. Hopeful for an early spring release.

Are they making a non-CAI for the tC2? as in short-ram with isolation air box? I saw it on the new TRD parts flyer as well as on the Scion flyer. Something like this, but not that:

Don't want to take the risk with the CAI + cleaning it is annoying.

We actually have one of the exhausts in stock and ready to ship right now. The CAI we have not heard anything on it yet, but do know TRD is working on one.

Keep an eye on our website for new parts for the new tC.
