Default enging hissing noise

hey guys so my ac was not working at all. I can feel the different temperature on the adjustment from cold to hot. But when i try to use the a/c it only blows outside air in. So then we added freon to the car and when we turned off the car, the engine started to make a hissing noise coming in front of the car. Is that normal?

Sounds like the refrigerant you put in is leaking out. Could be a line or your condenser.

Was the ac on when you shut off the car? I'm not sure about our cars, but some cars do make a hissing noise when the car is shut off with the ac on. Just the compressor winding down or some such thing.

You should be able to tell even with it running if the ac is leaking baddly. Slow leak maybe not.

i think the ac was on. But when we put the freon we didnt see any leak. Maybe there was leak. But the ac was not getting cold.

I mean a condenser is like $250-$350. As far as how long it would take, that I'm not sure. But you have to assume $100/hr.

how many miles does it have/ how much time has passed since the first owner bought it as new? manufacturer's warranty should still apply.
