Default Excitement kicking in...

Having TRD lowering springs and TRD sway bar kit installed tomorrow.
Any opinions on changes to the ride?
Important to have alignment then? Wait for settling then align?
How long did you guys wait?

usually 1 or 2 weeks after spring/coilover installations you should do the alignment.

The ride is going to be more stiff then before and your steering wheel will be much more responsive then before..

2 weeks before I got an alignment. TRD springs wont change the ride quality too much, its just going to look a whole lot better.

I've read in numerous threads that people have experiences with odd noises from the TRD springs due to poor installation by the Dealer, is that true? Been thinking about getting them too

congrats!

I have an RS8.0 so the TRD springs are a given, but I can't wait to hear what your opinion on the sway bars because I was considering the bars for my first mod.

They are in! Fellas over at the dealership did a great job. Front installation gave them the most trouble, rear was easy. Liking the ride thus far, further review to come.

I can't wait to hear more.

I'm considering the bars for my first mod.

This mod is highly recommended! I've already noticed a significant change in handling response. The ride itself feels noticeably stiffer, like dpanda has posted. I no longer feel any body roll on sharp/lengthy turns.

During my daily drive there are 2 distinct turns that I make. One turn is a huge J-turn. I can accelerate through the turn without braking; no body roll, no understeer. The second is a sharp turn into the community I live in. The tc eats the turn with ease. Best comparison I can give, feels like riding inside a BMW 320 series.

Going to take the advice given here, and wait 2 weeks before alignment.

Printed out prices from Scion.com, and the dealer honored that price!
$550 sway bar kit, parts and install, tax not included yet.

Do you know what setting they used for the front bar?

As soon as I get some resolution on my head unit I'm going to do this!

I have not heard of anybody here using anything but the middle setting for the front sway-bar. I waited several months...only because I have not finished the Adjustable RUCAs yet.

Really I have heard of people completely disconnecting the from sway for track and sliding purposes. I just wanted to know in case I'm asked.

Since you are Auto-crossing, I’ve already made the assumption that you already have at least the TRD lowering springs and TRD sway-bar set. If I were Auto-Xing my tC2, I’d be running the Eibach Pro-Plus Kit (set). If you don’t, you won’t be competitive and disconnecting a sway-bar is way too radical and too ghetto. If you have too much under-steer with the way your sway-bars are installed, move the forward bar’s connection forward to soften the front roll stiffness. This will get you more over-steer.

Why the eibachs over the TRD's?

The sway-bars are the same, but the price might be cheaper. The springs are ¼” lower and slightly stiffer. I don’t recall the actual numbers. You get a deal when you buy it all at once.

Sure…why not? I am not sure, but I think the Eibach sway bars are just a tad stiffer. I’ve got TRD springs and sway bars on my car. On high speed corners, I find the car po-goes…the shocks are too weak. I plan to replace mine with TEIN coilovers eventually.

If I remember the specifications correctly, the rear sway is a bit thicker on the eibachs. I'll be going with the Tein Super Street coils as well. The TRD's are the best lowering spring but the shocks were not made to be pushed. AN OEM has to make something that is feasible across many uses.
