!!! Fake sponsors!!! Please read!!!
ok guys i know alot of you are looking into sponsors cuz we have a new car but be weary especially for this company! sponsoredwhips i was online and and put in an ap and shortly after a guy names patrick called me and gave me the speal that sounded amazing and like a sucker i fell for it and wasnt thinking he then asked for a $199.00 payment and bein all excited cuz all these great things i was "pre approved for" all i saw was free stuff in my head. lol well then he asked me to go to a post office and send a money gram... first indicator it was a scam... but like i said i was blinded by promises of free stuff. after that i received an email with all these great things and a few things didnt add up so i googled them and with very little efford i found out it was a scam. so if you are looking for sponsors do not do not do not use sponsoredwhips, just look at there web site and its a lil fishy... they are in deleware and its a 302 area code its one guy and he changes his name every time, i went to the post office and was able to stop my letter with the money order from bein sent and ill get my money back but alot of people werent as fortunate, the local police department and post office have had nothing but problems with this guy... just google them and you can see its a scam! i learned, only way to get sponosored with out the risk of a scam is to contact each company individually, the worst they can say is no... so if any company wants you to pay a "processing fee" or asks for money up front tell em to f*ck off and hang up....
best of luck guys dont make the mistake i did.. DO UR RESEARCH!!!

about sponsorships...
my rule of thumb has always been..."if u have to pay, walk away" (only exception is if the best the actual manufacture can get u is discount, but then u can still walk away if u want...just dont burn any bridges in case they are given the go to make it free or even offer something else to you)
also working directly with manufactures is the best way (thought it might be the hardest to find a contact)...unless you know people its always a shot in the dark
- look for the manufacture to post on forums (check the regional section of ScionLife)
- look for manufactures that have HQ in ur area, look up their e-mail (on their website) and e-mail them...doesnt hurt to ask
- look for manufactures at car meets (some times they come to you)
off the top of my head, if ur are in the SoCal area you can try AEM (hawthorn) or Wings West (City of Industry)...those guys might need a tC2
..............ALSO
if you are dealing with a real manufacture and they ask u to put $$ in (usually because they want you to fix up ur car FAST so u can display it with their parts at an auto show) make sure u get in writing that they will reimburse you. True story: a friend had a 370Z and was given some parts and told....spend X amount of your money to finish fixing up ur car so you can come with us to SEMA (last year) and we will pay u back after. Well stuff fell threw and the COMPANY couldn't go to SEMA anymore....so it was like "sorry but our deal was SEMA then pay u back...since no SEMA no pay back" even though it was their fault

Being nowhere near any manufacturers, letting companies play with my car isn't really an option, meaning generally neither is free. However there are places out there that will give you a part at a discount and just ask you to take pictures and promote their product to your friends. If you're going to get the part anyway, might as well get it at a discount. Just be sure to stick with reputable companies and if you pay, pay with something like PayPal which will refund your money if its a scam.
car sponsors, this deal and a few other sites are out there for $. i met a kid at a show this past weekend in chicago who was 'sponsored' but in order to be sponsored had to pay $50 along w/ paying fo rshirt n vinyl's. if you gotta pay for anything its not a sponsorship; especially a website that gets you 'great deals'. i had 2 buddies try that garbage and you pay all that up front and you save if anything like $5
