Smile Hello, new here.

Hello everyone.

I have own a Scion for since 2007 when I got my 2008 Scion TC in Oct and recently I traded in for a Scion 2011 TC model. I enjoyed my 2008 and had no issues with it over the time I owned it. Even liked the color, the dark red color or as they called it Sizzling Cherry. Awful name for the color but eh.

So my new car is the nice flat grey tone, or cement as they call it. I like the inside lay out but I have notice it has very few features unlike my 2008 model. Right now I am still getting use to handling the car. With my old car I rarely had to look down at my speed as I got a feel for it, but this new one it is taking a while.

The engine is different. Often when I slow down the engine revs up. I am still looking around as I am new to the forums to see if anyone might know why this is.

If it is an auto trans. it is downshifting evrytime you let off the gas and slow down. It's supposed to be some kind of fuel saving/engine braking feature I think. If it is a manual, they "rev hang" due to the slow response time of the drive by wire throttle control. The auto versions do it to I'm sure, just not as noticeable. Check out the Sprint Booster which decreases the lag time between the gas pedal input and throttle body response. It's expensive but it works. I want one but they are 300+ bucks. There are other "throttle controllers" on the market much cheaper but none function the way I want. Search the forums for throttle controller.
Glad to see another TC1 guy " See the light"! lol

I'll put some picks up once I get my Scion washed, and like the navy does it ships I consider my car girl.

As as for accessories, none yet. It didn't come with anything really. But I did take the floor mats from my old 2008 model. Those floor mats are great.

First thing I plan to look into getting is a remote starter for my car for those cold mornings. I'm originally from NC and I have been living in NJ since 2003. I have yet to get use to the cold weather.

Welcome to the new generation (of tCs). I think you'll like the change. And I'm with you on my cars being girls.

I know some people will call me a girly man, but I bought the auto tranny version of the tC2. You're right on with that downshift assessment. I've noticed it on mine depending on the situation and that's when I usually see the green "ECO" light turn on in my dash. I looked it up on the site and it's a feature with the auto tranny tC2's.
