Wink I need advice

I'm moving to England,I was wondering if my warranty will still be valid over seas. I bought it state side, and contacted my dealer about it; unfortunately, he hasn't responded yet. The reason why i'm asking you guys instead of waiting for the response is this, IF it isn't going to be covered i want to mod my gen2 now. I was going to wait until my warranty ran out. So here's my "real question", I have about 6k that i've saved up for her, What should i do to her. So far i just have a CIA and a cat back exhaust. I'm going to get a short shifter for sure, so no need to throw that in there. I really appreciate all the help SL.

problem with boosting is that it may never make it to england. Probably won't pass emissions to enter.

If an aftermarket turbo car can pass emissions here, why wouldn't it pass in Europe where the emissions requirements aren't as strict?

He already has a cat back exhaust so he probably eliminated a cat under the car. An exhaust manifold is not catted either. And who says that passes emissions here? If your state passes cars with aftermarket turbos and no catalytic converters, I'll move there now. A car has to pass emissions at the outgoing country and also once its registered on new soil. Also having a left hand drive car might put him through more obstacles in England.

Source: Couldn't bring a used bmw from germany due to lack of cats.

Yea, emissions in the states are the toughest. Across the pond you should be good. Boost does sound like fun, but if you do, you will more then likely need a stronger clutch. You will have slipage.

Even if you do happen to get the car there, have fun paying almost $10 a gallon for gas :/ boosting probably wouldn't be a good idea unless you have a real good income

If you're in Cali, then yes you have retarded laws. For the rest of us, as long as he's not throwing a CEL he should be fine. They don't even check the exhaust gases here in GA on OBDII cars.

And food for thought, pre-R35 GTRs are legal in the UK. Importing cars directly from Japan isn't a problem over there. Whereas our EPA requires vehicles to have EGR valves which most cars, designated for markets other than the U.S., from that period don't.

It being LHD also isn't a problem. There are plenty of American cars in the UK which are only made in LHD.

I'm in the UK now with two first gen Tc's and can give you some info if you are coming over hear. As for the LHD thing not a problem. Emissions may be a problem as you will have to get it inspected within the first 30 days in country. they check the carbon footprint at your exhaust tip and do a good look over on shocks, struts, lights, and so on. Also you will need to do a light convershion as all signal/indicator lights have to be amber and all park lights have to be white. The only thing i had to do for my two 07's was amber bulbs in the rear signals, install a rear red foglight in the passgener side backup light, and lower the passenger healight 2 degrees because of the kick off on that side. If you need anymore info PM me and i'll do what i can. Also as for gas prices if you are military then you will get it at the us avg on base and that is currently $3.95 a gal but off base it is $8.41 a gal. The UK has the third highest gas prices in the world but there cars hear get 60-80 MPG (----not a type-o) so that makes up for it.
