I'd go with AEM or TRD. both are designed to not trick the MAF sensor, and they seem to be the only one's that give you the best overall gains, not just at high rpm's. now i know someone is going to get their panties in a bunch about their intake, but the best overall build quality would be AEM and TRD in my opinion. if you care about your warranty and like a sleeper look, or are worried about hydro-lock, id recommend the TRD. if your looking for a true cold air intake id go with AEM. its electronically tuned to work with the car's MAF sensor, and also the dry filter is a huge plus because they are lower maintenance. I'm going to pick one of these when i decide to shell out some cash for an intake down the road

my belief is that the takeda intake is the best. (this is just my opinon) but it has the least amount of low end loss and has the most gains. my car is much more responsive with it, also sounds amazing and looks fantastic! i do wish it came in black tho...... used it for at least 2 months of winter driving in ottawa, in which time we had a lot of snow and rain.... i put the hydro sock on and no issues what so ever.

weapon-r is good too and its ~$180 from beangarage + free s&h
TRD is super mega ___ expensive
AEM looks sick and ppl are very pleased with the sound/performance
takeda sounds very good and performance is good too but me and another member on here ended up with CELs, other didnt seem to have that issue and like it alot (btw IMO takeda looks the weirdest in the engine bay)
Descendant is very popular and can be converted from SRI to CAI plus the guys at descendant will hook you up with a good deal

some opinion and some facts in here. make you own conclusion. im not ____ting on anybody here

Ya the cai to sri is a major positive.... My least favourite looking is the weapon R SRI. But I agree with a lot of what you wrote

none. An intake will get you minimal gains, and leave you hungry for more power. It becomes a sunk cost once, you want to do something more with your car. IMO, its better to think of a build in a future perspective instead of buying what you can currently afford. You'll have to dispose of it later anyway.

The gains are going to be about the same across the board for the most part...which are minimal.

And I heard of talk about MAF sensor manipulation. Takeda and Descendant are the ONLY intakes that uses zero MAF manipulation. Injen, Weapon-R, and AEM all use it...each of them in different ways. AEM just does it in a "cooler" way and calls it "electronically tuned", but it's still manipulating MAF readings that the ECU picks up.

I have the Takeda and it's been very good to me. But I'll never sit around and try to sway anyone towards one intake or another...not really worth anyone's breath...or keystrokes.

Generally, all intakes are pretty much the same. The only difference is looks and some sound slightly different. And ofcorse theres SRI vs CAI.

I <3'ed my Takeda but as Scion202 said it gave me CEL's like crazy, so I switched to the AEM and have loved it ever sense. Gives a GREAT sound

My Descendant CAI came with K&N oiled filter and I don't like oiled filters.

Can one of guys please give me the part# just for AEM or Takeda dry air filter? I'm gonna change mine.

I picked the TRD intake because I live in Cali and thats the first thing the police look for when you get popped . At least this way it looks stock and I can throw the stock filter if I have to. Plus it comes with a carb sticker to help keep you outta trouble.
