im a matrix owner. been a member of scionlife for a while now, checking in when needed because of our similar cars.

sunday i had my car serviced and while waiting i saw a 2011 scion TC in the showroom. after i sat down inside i saw this piece that caught my attention and i now want very badly. It is a cupholder insert that accomodates the iphone/ipod and a few coins.

I walked the part over to the parts counter and they couldnt find it save their lives. its not in the system as a part or as an accessory, also it has no p/n embossed on the back. i cannot find it on the scion website or even trdsparks hasnt heard of it.

anyways. if anyone has this part and doesnt have/care for iphones you can sell it to me.

I have this part but out of a 2010. It looks nearly the same. You might be able to email TRDSparks and see if they can find it. Or, I can sell you mine for a negotiated price if you are having no luck.

 

HA I got one I never use, just keeps thrown around in the car.

 

you both have the 2010 one. so the 2011 is different? interesting.

does anyone have a picture of what the old one looks like?

 

i have one exactly like it. when i bought my '10 tc, they threw it in for free. i dont even use it. its just wasting cupholder space.

 

I have this piece, was suppose to be a "gift" from scion to its customers. I love it, and used it all the time.

 

No mine looks the same and its from a 2009

 

Had mine complimentary for my 2009, can't recall about it for my 2007 though as it was too long ago was traded in.

 

Mine is sitting on a shelf in my garage. I'm sure we can come up with a price if you want it. It's the '11 version, just like the pictures.

I got one with my 2011. Don't use it. My ipod mini does not fit, and the coin slots are awkward.

i'd like to see pics of this in use. Preferably with a iphone attached to the "Scion" Cable.

 

StatuSCheckA: I'll put the iPhone holder in my car tonight when I get home. I don't have an iPhone (I'm an Android guy) but I do have an iPod Touch that should give you the idea. As for the Scion Cable you speak of, it's just a 3.5mm jack cable in a plastic bag that says Scion. You really need to get out your iPhone USB cable to get the most of your iPhone/iPod.

 

I'm not sure how it works on the TC 2.0. But I use the OEM "iPod" cable for my OEM Pioneer for my 2006 tC. Its a 30-Pin cable, great cause it shows the artist / song on the Head Unit.

 

i want one haha they are pretty nice. it does take up cup holder space though but its better than having your ipod/iphone all over the place

StatusCheckA: It's the same way for the tC2. I got another cable USB cable for my iPod in the car and it displays everything on the head unit and everything is controlled from the head unit or steering wheel controls.
