ordered it already? haha cool, trust me you will love it. u just need half the day to get it all done...took me about a week or so to borrow 4 jack stands and then find an open time to do it...oh and i forgot to add that there is a 24 hour no driving after painting (though i had to move it back to the other side of the garage instead of the middle...should be fine)

didn't know so many people knew about G2 already. Painting my stock rims black rims is my plan in the future....but I will see. I want to do other things first before i touch the rims....i only used 1 kit. the kit says to do 3-4 coats...i did 3 coast and had extra. did not feel the need for a 4th coat

will do! not sure if u guys can tell but my car is filthy right now...I will also drive the car tomorrow (after all the drying/setting time) to Downtown LA and back...so i'll see how it holds up on the LA fwys. and then I will be cleaning it this weekend for a car meet on Sunday...will report on all of that. if the product is for real it should be all good

? why do i need to paint the pads when they will be replaced eventually

and if i wanted to do the rotors (i didn't) id just go with a spray like ur DIY (which is cool by the way)...G2 uses a paint brush for application

also i'd do the rotors black like urs with white calipers if anything...just the calipers is good for me

the caliper is painted all the way to the back and under (where u can't really see), mainly for my peace of mind that is painted throughout

Default Exterior Update 7-23-11 - G2 Caliper Paint Update

So here is a quick update on how it has held up...

before wash...2 days use after painting (and letting set for 1 day)...drivin to and from LA downtown and driving to and from disneyland...as well as other small drives

after wash......using one of those rim bristle cleaner brush things...its still a little wet

as u can see....after use and after cleaning...it is still pretty much the exact same white as i painted it

Still haven't gotten a chance to throw the gold on my calipers.
Curious as to how your are. Still holding up? Anything else new going on?

i actually washed my car last thursday and they are still perfect! i took pictures of them nice and white...i forgot to take a before they were filthy!

so far...
install on 7-20 - brand new
some long driving + car wash on 7/23 - still nice and white
a LOT more driving + car wash on 8/4 - still white, but real dirty...after wash = still looking brand new white!

i will post up the pictures when i have time (my macbook and camera has been dead so that was part of the delay), but going on 3 weeks and it still looks like i painted it yesterday. no paint chipping, no fading, not hard to clean...great stuff!
i will update again in a couple more weeks probably

Default Exterior Update - G2 Caliper White - 8-4-11 (3 weeks)

So I know I completely lagged on uploading this update, mainly because my camera and my laptop both needed to be charged as well as other personal issues keeping me busy...anyways, nuff bought that...

I didnt have a chance to take before photos, but here are photos of the calipers after the wash, and this has been 3 weeks since the install

as u can see...still nice brand new white. I wish i took photos before, they were REALLY dirty. but with a wash, they came off real easily without any damage to the paint. as of today it has been 4 weeks since and its getting dirty, but no signs of peeling or discoloring or anything.

ALSO
i have an extra G2 Caliper Paint Kit, WHITE also....if anyone is interested in buying it please PM me. it is a BRAND NEW never opened kit

Remember to take some pics next time!

they looked like someone sprayed dirty water on them...the white was still noticeable.

i guess my best description would be....white car after it was rained on a few days before. u can tell its white but up close all the dirt gives it grey coating. (u know how it collects all that dirty rain water and other dust)

...the car wash was a random event, i didnt plan on it so thats mainly why i only have after pictures..mainly because i noticed how white it was again. i'm getting them real dirty this time though! and i'll take pictures before and after

Default Exterior Update 8-19-11 - Caliper Update + heydan

So before I go off to OEM Audio+ today for some test fitting, I decided to wash my car...and so I remembered this time to take pictures of the calipers before washing! so here are some before and after shots

Before:

After:

Still white...the back was still a little dirty after washing, but I was only doing a quick wash today. most of the dirt that came off was from just spraying it with a hose. So yea, after this I dont think I will be doing anymore updates. G2 Caliper paint is a great product.

BONUS
so I had time to kill and decided to finally take a close look at that Descendant bolt heydan has been having trouble with...

I finally see now that it is NOT a straight through bolt....
BUT mine is sturdy as F. I tried ripping it apart....nothing...tried to see if shaking the CAI with the bolt in would break it...nothing...
from my pictures it looks like that black rubber is also overlapping the bolt and helping hold it in its place. either that to some bolts were just not glued on as well..

Yeah--could have been better I guess. I modified my own (not sure if you saw) and it's awesome! I am actually pretty proud of myself for it

Thanks for the pic!

Default Engine Update 8-23-11 - AC Insulation (Thanks Scion202)

So I'm taking my tC2 on its first (long) road trip this weekend...and what do you know...the weather is going to be HOT in Vegas!

I went to home depot to restock on painters tape (I'm going to tape up the front of the car for the trip) and decided to pick up the things I need for the AC Insulation mod.

Here's how it came out...first the foil

If you look closely, I was able to foil it all the way to the firewall

And then the rubber insulation...I tried to keep the sections in one piece as much as possible so it doesnt look like a bunch of pieces

I'm not sure if its really noticeable because its dark back there...but i was able to put the insulation on the pipe all the way back to the firewall. didn't have to remove the wiper or panel either
