Great start and welcome to ScionLife!
I'm in Florida now, but moving to Phoenix the end of the month. RAar is also in the Phoenix area with a tC2, but I haven't seen him on here much lately.
As for installing the springs... It's pretty easy with a decent tool set. There are DIY videos on here that walk you through it. Otherwise, if you want to wait until October, I can probably help you one weekend. It's a 4-6 hr job if you're doing it in your driveway.
There are a couple groups that might be able to help give you insight too. I guess the Scikotics chapter there fell apart a while back, but they're trying to rebuild. There is also a club called Team Aftermath which is a Lexus/Scion/Toyota club in the Phoenix area (www.teamaftermath.com). People from both clubs seems pretty cool on the forums, but I haven't actually met any of them yet.
Maybe we can get RAar and have a tC2 meet in October! :D

A tWM you say? Ill have to look into that, I was checking out the trd but I see that alot from the dealership is way overpriced especially install costs! And thank you im loving the car, I just got done outting in the led dome lights and all that I got the "cool white" from superbrightleds and there sharp looking, very bright also, i highly recommend!
TWM makes a great short shifter. I have it on my car and I love it. Though I wouldn't worry too much about installation on the TRD quickshifter. It's definitely something you can install yourself and is actually a lot easier (so I'm told) than the TWM one.
But as with all this stuff, find a good club and you'll have plenty of help. If you're mechanically inclined at all, or want to learn to be, you can do just about everything on this car. And if the current Phoenix clubs aren't helpful with mods, I'll set up something. I'm handy enough.

Agreed with what MightyP said, the TRD Short Shifter is a simple install, only hard part is pulling the U-Clip out but it is easy enough compared to swapping out all your springs.

You can also find the TRD parts on trdsparks.com or trdsource.com (those are 2 totally different companies, but they both have the parts for the tC).
