Lots of good info about the various bulbs and info on the Map/Dome/Trunk lights, and the LEDs to put in there...

im still drooling over the idea of this potential trunk build. if this cars not being driven crazy $hit better be happening haha.

swapping leds is a nice easy mod. something that ive come across in my day - take the DRL out of the headlights so its just projectors at night and turn the license plate lights into super/pure white. it will look WAY cleaner on both side of the car

Directional lights must be yellow/amber. Red is acceptable in the back. Making ur turn lights blue will make people pull over in front of you. No Blue or Red lights are allowed in the front of the car, ESPECIALLY Flashing/strobing

Also, the side LEDs are not plug and play, you need to solder

mine are white on the front and rear. and ill be doing my mirrors next weekk (leds in the mail) yea it is illegal..but ive only gotten pulled over once with them and it wasnt even for that, but the cop did mention it and gave me a warning. as long as your nice to the cop and the cop aint a dick...you should be fine.

and not to mention. i had blue turn signals in the front and blue reverse lights on my 07 for 3 years and never got pulled over for that!

It's not really the risk of getting pulled over that would bother me, it's the risk that such mods confuse somebody someday and contribute to an accident, but I'm sure we're all more concerned with how pretty our lights are.

Oh the advantages of being selfish, who cares about anybody else?

well in my opinion. if someone in front of you pulls over for 2 blue, white, red, green, yellow, purple,or pink blinking lights..thats good. thats one more stupid person thats out of your way lol.

and if someone gets into an accident because there staring at your lights..thats there fault. not mine because i wanted to make my car unique. its like saying nobody should customize there cars because someones going to admire it while driving and have an accident.

It's more that some people expect a turning signal to be a certain color, and might not expect your car to be in a certain place if they don't see orange especially if the weather is inclement. Split second, heurstical decisions happen in the real world, they save time, and we all want to save time. When you break the mold of the heuristic, as you're doing, unexpected things happen.

Gonna have to agree with jtk2 on this one. If you're that distracted by a different color turn signal, you've got issues. Its not like you've never seen that color before in your life. Besides most states use blue for volunteer fire or rescue. If he is willing to risk a ticket for the sake of standing out its his call, but I highly doubt it'll cause another motorist to wreck their car.
