New to scionlife
I bought a 2012 scion tC 3 weeks ago and have been loving it ever since. It's a manual transmission. I didn't have any idea how to do any tuning or modifications at all before I found this website, now it's my new hobby.
So far I've installed an Injen CAI and flush mount spoiler (OEM style but did it myself) as well as window tint.
I also changed out the factory Pioneer head unit to Alpine. I also put in an Alpine 500w amp and two Kicker 10s. The amount of accurate bass they produce is really impressive with the physics of the hatchback.
I changed out the dome, map and cargo lights to blue LEDs and just soldered on blue LEDs to the gauge cluster, changing everything from the stock orange to blue. Tonight I also changed the clock filter to blue and airbag/security lights. Now all that is left to change out is the HVAC lights and I have the LEDs on the way now.
I can't decide if I want to put a Descendant exhaust on it or not. I would if it would compliment my Injen CAI and give a combined 7-12 WHP, but I can't find anything to give a definitive answer.
I also plan on getting some springs to lower it 1.4"-1.5" if anyone has any to recommend. Also sending the wheels off next week to get powder coated satin black.
Just wanted to say thanks here, this website has enabled me to customize my car in a way I hadn't anticipated.

You aren't going to get 7-12 from any intake/exhaust unfortunately. You'll need to install a fuel/ignition controller and a tune before you have a chance at those results from intake/exhaust.
Get whichever exhaust sounds the best to you, because that's the main difference you'll notice...not power.
Welcome aboard!

Anyone know the diameter of the stock exhaust? Is it like 2 and 1/8"?
I'm probably installing a turbo kit the beginning of the year. I just quit playing tournament NCPA (college league) paintball, so I need a new hobby for the weekends.

2 and 1/8 seems like a good guess. It's definitely a noticeable difference when you compare it to an aftermarket 2.5" one.
And paintball? That's what's up man...I played it once at a friends place in the woods and it was a freaking thrill ride for me. I couldn't imagine league paintball.

I guess the only difference I will get out of a new exhaust will be sound? I don't care enough about that to drop the cash right now, I'd rather put it toward springs or coilovers.
Yeah, I'll pick paintball back up in the spring, seasons is over for now. I haven't played in the woods in years, but it was definitely fun back in the day.

Damn that's badass man those guys move like military!
And yeah don't get me wrong, I do admit I feel a little more pep in my car's step at higher RPMs and at highway speeds. But with civil city driving you've got just about no gain below 3-4k RPM.
And believe me, you'll fall in love with your car all over again once you lower it. I owned mine almost a year before I put the Eibachs on it and I certainly did.

I'm looking at getting the Eibach sportlines. I read an article that talked about handling with lowered suspension and it recommended that lowering by about 1.4" or so was the "sweet spot" for handling improvement. Do you have the sportlines or prokit?
I have the Sportline. I absolutely love them. The drop is perfect for a daily driven car. I get zero rubbing from them. Also, you'll hardly notice a difference in ride quality thanks to their progressive spring rates.
And as far as handling difference, you'll see improvement. I definitely have more confidence taking on-ramps at higher speeds. They will make the tires squeal more in high-speed turns, but boy do they grip.

Nice, based on your recommendation I'm buying them right now.
I was also considering switching out the motor mount but I hear from a lot of people the vibrations, especially with the A/C on at low RPMs is really annoying.
Also: Did your wheel spacers make your wheels rub with the Sportlines?

I have heard the same thing about the motor mount. I really want to try it because the positive affects seem to be pretty nice, but I don't want to sacrifice too much of that daily driver comfort.
The spacers rubbed some in the front over large bumps and also a little in very tight cornering. Predominantly in the front though. I don't remember hearing any in the rear. I had 15mm in the front and 20mm in the rear.
