Hey guys, so as of right now, I have an injen cold air intake (and it could switch to SRI as well). I really like this intake and all, but when i bought it, i wasnt thinking much about the color. I have a matte black CAI and im not a big fan of matte in general. So i might sell it or trade in with someone who might like matte black for theirs. Im looking towards the descendant one because that one is also switchable from CAI to SRI. BUT, my main question is: for those who have a descendant CAI, what are you guys getting for your average mpg. I drive an auto and i dont accelerate hard. i want to make sure i keep a good mpg lol. some feedback about the mpg would be appreciated! Thanks.
btw, im looking for polished or gloss black. love gloss, not a matte fan.

im sure all CAIs and SRIs are going to give you the same MPG. Its all dependent of your right foot.

 

Well since its matte black, I'm pretty sure someone will like it. A lot of people like matte black but I'm just not one of them. And I don't wanna put the effort to powdercoating it so I might just buy a new one with the color I want or if anyone wants to trade, I'm down..
Also I've heard some people get pretty low mpg, that's why I'm asking. I'm thinking about descendant cai so I'm just wondering what's estimate and average mpg. So fsr no replies yet :/

I wanna know what people get for mpg for descendant though but no one really gave me their numbers yet haha. but im pretty much decided unless something comes up and change my mind. eh, just don't think about it. How many times do you actually look under your hood (and more importantly how many times do you put your car into car shows to show off whats under the hood?) If you answered zero, I would just leave it ;-) I know I wouldn't mind if mine was hot pink as long as it did the job

 

Its your call. I'm with the guy above me. I dont care about the color so was willing to trade. I have about 1000 miles on my intake and all it does for me is the psssh sound. If you really wanted a trade, then you would put something up.

 

Haha I'll see how things turn out. That's why I said I'm not in a rush or anything.

 

I guess my question is, how much do you even pop your hood to notice? I understand its your car and you can paint flaming unicorns down the side if you so choose , but considering CAI do very little and cost a car payment, I would say just leave it.

^ yea i know what you mean but really theres no harm done. just a bit of labor. besides car payment or not, im really just thinking bout selling it and use that money to buy a different color or try different brand.

 

Why not powder coat it? It only costs like $15 - $20 to powder coat an intake pipe. You're gonna lose more than that if you try and sell it and purchase a new one. And you can get any color you want! Choose a color that nobody has!

 

I thought about that already.I guess it just wouldn't be the same to me. And I don't mind losing a bit of money for one that I would be happy with.
