Dude crazy video...it looks like your car is floating, the stock rims look awesome in motion! I found a set that looks similar to stock but you can get them in 19 and 20" ASA GT4 and the Axis Angle....check em out!

I haven't done any research into painting calipers yet. That'll come in the next few days.
I think it would look good with them gold though at least when I am moving. Possibly too much when parked though. I really like how the stocks look in motion.
Otherwise, they will go black. Either choice... they will get painted. lol

Ill take them into deliberation. I always just throw the red choice out the window.. Although it definitely improves the speed. So we will see.

These 2 have nice concave looks. Both are by Rota, top is their G Force and the 18x9+30 would give a nice poked out look. The bottom is their T2R and it comes in 18x9.5+38.

Oooooh those T2R's are awesome! I was really wanting to move up to 19's but after seeing those I think I made up my mind, thanks for the post my friend. Definitely going with gold too, should look nice on the super white

I was going to try and fit a +20 offset on there to get that concave look but the +35 on the blue sube looks pretty deep and prob a better fit

I've always been a fan of the matte black look on a car. So I have been looking into getting it done / doing it myself to my baby Opulence.

I will start with mirrors and the trunk. The mirrors I think would be more challenging than flatter surfaces. The trunk, will be my first flatter surface. heh.

So, anybody here ever do this? Any pointers?

I cannot find anywhere near me that does this work or that sells the vinyl so ordering will be my best bet unless I can find someone near me.
I think I will use 3M Scotchprint 1080... matte black.

So hopefully in the next couple weeks I can get started on that!

ALSO! I got some
black screw covers black screw covers
for my license plate... and they look excellent and definitely do their job at hiding the hideous silver screws ;p

I am loving the colour combination! I will have to look at how you painted the rims, would be interested to see the gold with white since everyone seems to have black rims these days.

I have already looked into this. The vinyl shops that I looked at are very reputable in my area. They told me that they would do it if I really wanted them too, but they advised paint instead of vinyl. Here are some of the reasons they gave me.

1. Costs are similar (paint vs. vinyl)

2. If the vinyl tears or gets damaged on a large part, it would cost more to have the vinyl replaced rather than taking the car to a body shop and having the damage buffed out/repainted.

3. Even the top end vinyls will start to experience wear in around 3-5 years, especially since the car will be outside at times. Also, when it is time to remove the vinyl, it can possibly be baked on and a PITA to get off.

4. Lastly they told me that with just doing a solid color, imperfections would show much more than if the vinyl had a design. They said that more than likely, try as you may to get it perfect (even if you are experienced) flaws will occur.

This is just my experience with talking with some vinyl installers. I looked at the 3M 1080 series Matte Black with controltac with comply performance. I have now begun too look into getting it painted.

I'm here! Just been sleeping on a few ideas and squeezing through a tight wallet.

I haven't done anything lately minus a few little things. Covered my mirrors in matte black as well as the garnish on the hatch. Also painted my mirror turn signals. I couldn't see through the VHT I originally put on cause i was too drunk at the time and shouldn't have done them... ;p so I threw some gold on.

Looks much better with the emblem on there.

I had just planned to have some fun and give a go at doing the vinyl wrap myself. I figure I can get enough of the 3m 1080 series for about 550-600$ and just do a panel at a time. It doesn't seem to be too hard... and if it is... well, then i rip it off and try again.

I'm just getting sick of frowning every time i see a new little scratch or swirl on the car. They just appear out of nowhere!

But all the points you post do make sense. IDK if I can invest in a new paint-job.... a good one at least.

Nice theme you have you going there. I don't know why, but this was the first thing that came to mind when I read your thread title and saw your car.

Keep up the good work!!!

I wonder how it would look with gold grilles up front. Photoshop anyone?
