IMO this tC is the best built showcar I have ever seen in person.
It is only a trailer queen because it is a display car...why risk doing any damage to something that needs to be around to push the brand for a long time?
This just doesn’t make any sense…

What did 5Axis do with the exhaust? Is it hideously loud? Is it turboed? You would still get carbon-monoxide poisoning with the exhaust dumping forward of the driver’s compartment.

Having much wider wheels in the rear would just exacerbate the under-steer inherent in the car’s design.

As far as I can see this is an extremely functional vehicle. It was designed and built to be on display for Scion. It is functioning as a show car. Weather or not it handles well or accelerates well is irrelevent. It is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

so this is one of those rare cases of "form = function"

Define “extremely functional”…even race cars have exhaust pipes. This one does not. I could not open the hood, but I will assume that it has the header still on and in place.

I posted this to show two extremes – “all show and no go” = the 5-Axis car
And the other extreme – performance/function – all of my mods were done specifically to improve performance and/or function…did I get the maximum performance I can out of my car? No way!
Yeah, I know…I know…I got a POS car…

The Gen2 tC as delivered from the manufacturer under-steers and with the staggered tires, it would be even worse! Those wide tires in the front would rub at the smallest steering angle and you couldn’t drive over any bumps or driveways…it is so low. I don’t want a car just to look at! That would be like having a trophy wife you can’t even have $ex with…what’s the point? I want a car I can drive hard and I want a wife I can phü©k! What? Am I with a bunch ballers of all show and no go?

I think he's just upset that no one is raving about his car.

My stupid a$$ narrow mindedness! If it looks like a car, it must perform like a car…and its got to be fun to drive! How wrong could I have been? :?

I think you need to take a look further under the vehicle. There is an exhaust system.. perhaps a "lack thereof".. However the car drives, functions, and NO... you won't die of CO poisoning.
FiveAxis creates and builds show vehicle that pretty much front-lines the possibilities of what CAN be done to a tC (if you have the funds)... and doing so without making it look rice and gaudy.

As far as you losing to that vehicle.. i must say whoever was in charge, or much less judging the vehicles needs to be punched in the face.

A corporate sponsored promo vehicle shouldn't be competing in the first place.. but i suppose they couldn't let you win by default... but seriously.. i think you're just upset that you lost to a vehicle (that i mentioned) shouldn't have been judged in whatever the hell competition you were doing.

trophies are trophies... and pretty much worthless show pieces anyway. if you want, walk down to a trophy store and buy yourself a 7' tall 1st place trophy for your car and make some category up.

it is like comparing Pamela Anderson with Mia Hamm. both are homo sapiens (cars) but one has been modified to look like a hookwalker (all show) and one has been modified to actually perform. which would win in a beauty contest (car show) is no real question.

which one would win scoring more goals on a soccer field (autoX) is also no real question.

keep in mind you took a car to a show where hookwalkers win the day.

^^^This is a true statement, although it is irrelevent to this one:

Meaning that as long as it moves forward, turns, stops, etc. it is performing like a car, regardless on if that car is fun to drive...

Not to mention that fun to you is different than fun for me... for you a well balanced, hard cornering vehicle is fun... for me, a slammed, attention getter is fun. Neither of us is wrong, we just have a different view...
