There are holes behind the Scion badge.

I am contemplating if I should get blank ones or I might try to get Carlos over at P-Tuning to send me some.

No manual to remove the stock ones, but I can give you a quick Ted write up.

-The front bumper needs to be removed.
-There are clips located on the top of the bumper that you will need to remove
-On the bottom of the bumper there are a few screws/clips that you need to remove
-There are screws where the bumper meets the fenders
-From there you should be able to pull the bumper off.
-The grills are held in by clips on the back of the bumper, unclip em and your done.

No problem. I took a look at your thread and my only question on the grills is how do they mount? do they attach to the factory grills, or?

Ted, the tC looks outstanding dude. Love the a-pillar tape removal and the license plate hook up. I really need one of those asap! I am sick of having my plate on my grill.

Carlos, hook a brotha up! haha.

Also, I wanna discuss a new build on my B with you. I am gonna need some things painted and still want that DT9 vinyl that we discussed.

finally saw a tc2 in person, gotta say, it was pretty nice!

things i loved: steering wheel, all black headliner/pillars (this was the best feature i liked), dashboard center stack facing driver, and seats were a little better then tc1 seats.

things i hated: rear 1/4 window visibility (blind spot much? lol) rear garnish (just a weird shape) no auto up/down passenger (i mean wtf? its not new, just use the same parts from the tc1) and of course the climate controls (again, wtf?)

overall a nice car, but definitely not for me!

i really loved the black headliner, lol

well, Toyota's thought process of "cost savings" for some of those features is BS. many cheaper cars come with more features theses days. Saw a Chevy Cruze today too. makes the Cobalt look cheap. Toyota is pricing themselves out of the market honestly. Of course, the gas pedal conspiracy didn't help much either. they need to make up 65 million

Hello Wellesley, watching this thread!

Got a question: Did you consider adding another reverse light rather than painting over the non-functional one? Seems to me that it should be pretty easy to splice a couple wires to the other side and add another light. This would keep the rear from being asymetrical in appearance. I'm leaning towards doing this when I get mine. What do you think?

P.S. If Toyota left them out to save money (as I expect) makes me wonder what other things that we can't see were cut?!

How visible is the reverse light when your standing on the passenger side of the car where you cant visibly see the driver side tailight? I know its legal but it just seems like a major safety issue. Plus i am kinda stumped why scion did that when it looked terrible on the xb2 with one reverse light and then they changed it to have them integrated into the tails on the refresh of the xb2. More mind boggling questions from scion. My biggest surprise is the lack of auto up/down windows!

Ok a lot of questions to answer...

@2011crimson Not really, it was mentioned to me before I sprayed them, but I kinda like the single reverse, just wish they made it more obvious.

@OkcTC You sure can

@djshway Tint the windows. Eventually coilovers, lip kit, wheels, turbo... I can go on for a while, so lets just say I am planning a full show car.

@highvoltage1 It lights up everything behind the car, I would say it works just as well as having 2 reverse lights on the 1st gens... I agree on the auto up/down.... should really have the feature...

@Murphys_Law while I am capable of doing it I have grown to like the look.
