Pulley Install help
Hello, I could not find the information using the search (and Google) button or reading the whole NST comprehensive thread. Any help is appreciated.
I am looking for a step by step DIY installation for the lightweight crank pulley.
Tools I have that I might need according to all the searching:
impact gun
torque wrench that can reach up to 300 lbs torque (I know I need at least 150)
gear puller
rubber hammer
Installs I have done by myself or help from my brother:
CAI
HID
lowering springs
Specific questions:
1: Did people use special oil to put on the pulley? If so, what kind of oil and where/how much do you put it/on?
2: Is there parts from the OEM pulley that I have to use on the NST one?

First I removed the serpentine belt using a sepentine belt remover tool (skinny steel bar) a 19 mm 6 point socket. From the top (tool sticking out of top of engine), toward the rear of the car is loosen. Push the tool toward rear and pull the belt of the alternator and the rest should be easy.
Second I jacked the front end of my car up, and set the front tires on some planks several inches up, and pulled e-brake and chalked rear tires. For extra safeness, I put jack stands on the front jack points.
On the passenger side, remove the weather gaurd that is between the right front wheel and the engine. I think there are 5 screws; 3 up top, one that is located behing the wheel well weather gaurd, and one that is underneath the car. With the weather gaurd removed, you should see the crank pulley better.
With the car on the planks and in 5th gear, I used a fairly long 1/2" breaker bar and a 6 point to break the bolt, but be careful not to make contact with bend the power steering line
. Pulley removal shouldn't be too hard, I simply smacked it with a rubberhammer a couple of times, then it came off.
It is normal to have some crank case oil to leak or be around the center of the pulley.
Using the notch as a guide, install the aftermarket pulley in place.
Use red loctite 272 on the threads of the pulley bolt and torque to 150 ft*lbs using 1/2" torque wrench. The rest, just go in a backward order. Make sure you replace the belt in the right order and don't run the car hard for the next 24 hours to ensure loctite is secure.

I'm ordering the pulley and wondering about the install myself. How long did it take you guys? And I have an impact wrench but not a breaker bar. Will the impact wrench fit in there?

Good to know you got it done. Setting the front wheels down on some elevated planks or other safe object would keep it from turning. The impact gun will fit, you just have to remove the weather gaurd piece and maybe the wheel.
impact gun did not take off the bolt for me had to use the stock tire iron wedge the stock pulley and go breaker bar method, used a snap on impact gun, ohh btw be careful the tensioner bolt is fragile so f*** mine rounded out using the serpentine belt tool had to use a pry bar to release the tension to get that belt back on
Sorry to hear that man. Did you use a 19 mm socket or some thin socket that came with a serpentine tool kit? Tensioner is not cheap, but I guess if breaker bar works then you're good. Mine is a craftsman skinny steel rectangular tool with a red handle on one end and 1/2" drive on the other, works just fine.
