You do realize you commented on an 11+ year old post and responded to a member who hasn't been on in 8 years. I'm sure with a search you could find something about removing door handles if that's what you were looking for.

Yeah I did find the info I was looking for, but it doesn't change the fact that a senior member, at any time, giving a response like that, would be acceptable.
This post is one of the top results to a Google search about the handles, so it's seen by anyone searching.
What do you imagine people are thinking about this forum, seeing a response like that?
This forum is not here for making fun of other members when they ask for help.
That comment should have been deleted by moderators 11 years ago.
Better the question was left unanswered than having the asking member made fun of.
What would a new member, regardless of the date, think when finding this is the response to a request for help, from a SENIOR member?
I doubt they would stay for long.
And most don't look at the dates, they just look at the members answers.
I'm certainly not impressed, having only been here a few times.
I'm certainly surprised that a super-moderator would comment on MY response, like I did something wrong, yet his was ignored.
Like they say, the truth hurts!

Like I say, YOUR truth doesn't affect me one way or the other.

It's a forum, man, and you're going to get all kinds of answers, good, bad and indifferent, and, if I had to guess, 99% of the people who stumbled across that post via a Google search or otherwise likely ignored that single reply altogether. The fact that it upset you to the point of resurrecting a long dead thread amazes me and I feel bad that it has you so spun-up.

I wasn't a 'Super Moderator' at the time the post in question took place but, in reviewing it, I don't see any reason to delete it. It's a smart-a$$ answer and I, like most others, would skip right past it since it provides no value. If I took the time to review every post and edit or delete based upon relevance or value of the answer, I would be on here all day long. It's too bad that the level of moderation on here isn't up to YOUR standard but it is what it is.

And I don't see that you did anything wrong, nor did I mention that in my reply, other than posting on a long dead thread to complain about something and, at the same time, adding as little value as the post you were complaining about. I would have PM'ed a moderator or just flat-out started a new thread with the question or issue I was looking for an answer to, but that's just me.

Either way, both the original post in question and yours will stay, like it or not.
