Default Reset maintenance reminder after oil change

I'm out of the 2 year free service interval and just performed my first oil change.

Can someone tell me how to reset the "maintenance reminder."

Default Reset Maintenance Light

I've only ever done it the first way, with trip a selected. If I remember correctly this reset trip a (if that is a problem for you). I haven't seen the second option until now (from odometer reading).

How to reset oil light on Scion tC - Car How To

2014-2011

1. With vehicle ignition switched to ON position, make sure odometer is showing “Tripmeter A”, then turn the ignition switch to OFF position
2. Push and hold the TRIP/RESET or MODE button 3. While holding reset button, switch ignition to ON position
**w/ ENGINE START/STOP button, keep your foot off brake pedal and push ENGINE START/STOP button twice to get Key On/ Engine Off mode
4. Continue to hold the reset button until the odometer displays “000000” and then the original value is displayed
5. Turn the vehicle off and back on to confirm reset was accepted

OR

1. With vehicle ignition switched to ON position, make sure odometer reading is shown, then turn the ignition switch to OFF position
2. While holding TRIP/RESET button, switch ignition to ON position
**w/ ENGINE START/STOP button, keep your foot off brake pedal and push ENGINE START/STOP button twice to get Key On/ Engine Off mode
3. While holding reset button, switch ignition to ON position
4. Continue to hold the reset button until the odometer displays “000000” and/or the MAINT REQD light goes off
5. Turn the vehicle off and back on to confirm reset was accepted

Put key in switch back and forth to on and off without starting the car do about 3 times have your trip screen set on your dash and once you hit on for your final time hold the reset button on the dash should come out dashes that seem to count down then hits 0 and turn on your car
