Anyone else get huge ___ static electricity discharges when they get out? I mean im use to little one's, but these ones actually make me flinch, and it happens almost everytime i get out of the car

i've learned very quickly to use the b pillar as my only point of contact when shutting the door >.>

 

If you touch the car with an open hand first, and not the tip of a digit, it should lessen the shock.

Edit: No I havent been shocked by mine. Surely its due to the weather where you are.

 

Yeah, I get it all the time. Back if my hand automatically goes to the door now to discharge the static.

 

YEA EVERY TIME! at first i thought it was the cloths i was wearing...but it kept happening!

my passengers never seem to complain though...driver side issue only?

All my passengers get it but I never do. Stop running your socks on the carpet when your driving lol

 

exactly the same lol, no one other then me has ever got shocked, maybe its the way we get in and out ? lol i have no idea

I believe its a dry weather thing. I've learned that a knuckle is the best way to disperse the charge; as in a quick flick of the index knuckle. The B- Pillar has been very usefull, too. I'm hoping that when I get my leather cover for the center console, the I'll lose the static build up there.

 

This used to happen in my old Civic back in like 2003. All of my Toyota's, Scion's, and Nissans since then though has never shocked me.

 

Not entirely a dry weather thing. I'm in Florida!

started happening to me after I bought new Nike sneakers and at the time i had '99 corolla.
With new tC the same thing happens only when im wearing those same sneakers. So look at what you wear on your feet

 

Looks like we found the problem. It's the Nike brand!

me too lol... well i really get shocks everywhere... but im used to now that when i get out the car and close the door i get a shock... and most the times a wear adidas... but is interesting a lot of people are getting shocks after driving...
