Default today i learned ...

while using cruise on a manual tc, don't push the gear into neutral without using the clutch. cruise will stay engaged and the rpm will go up.

luckily i noticed before red line ... lol

you can shift a car without using the clutch if you hit the correct rpm for that gear. been there on my old car when the clutch went on it ... that sucks.

well, if you're cruising...why would you even want to shift to neutral? just turn cruise control off if you need to slow down. if you're going downhill and think neutral is gonna save you gas, leaving the car in gear will use no gas.

Don't feel so bad man. I did it once, by accident, too. I'm pretty sure it can happen on my mustang as well, I just don't remember doing it.

I did it because I was on a trip and we were on a highway with stoplights. I usually pull the car out of gear without using the clutch and coast when I see a stop light ahead. Its not like the car has much engine braking. Just remember to tap the breaks first or kill the cruise.
