Awesome mod in my opinion, pain in the butt to install lol "u-clip" from hell needless to say, but def improvement, legnthens the throws going back alot, many will suggest bushings from twm which make everything alot more smooth and less choppy

I have it, dramatic improvement. You'll love it. Throws are about one inch from neutral to a gear and seem to feel more precise. I had it dealer-installed when I bought the car so I can't provide any insight on the install.

I could not pull the clip with a screwdriver. It took me about 5 seconds to pull it with a pair of channel locks though. Just grab it and pull. It's a tough clip, you won't damage it. Reinstall it with the channel lock pliers as well. Very simple install, 15-20 minute job.

Yeap, simple install. It all depends on your level of expertise, if your a grease monkey or not. It took me about 30 min and yes, that U clip you'll need pliers so you can grip it well and pull it out. trdsparks will provide you with the step by step manual in color, they always do a great job. You'll definitely love the mod!

Link for reference: TRD Quickshifter: http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...&parts_id=3999

PS: What is the difference between that and installing a full new shifter such as http://www.twmperformance.com/shorts...rtshifters.htm

I did some homework and there was a nice long thread about the two brands of shifters and how they greatly differ.
Some people are putting in brushing too. Are those by the shifter or by the transmission cable under the hood?

I am waiting on my TRD quickshifter for 2012 tc. Meanwhile I have been looking at installation instructions and my question is that does the 2 piece part go to the same shifter cable on the tranny or to 2 different once.

Thanks

Same cable. One just relocates the mounting bracket for the cable, the second piece sits on the shifter fork and just realigns the cable as the bracket that pushes the cable back further moves to the side.

No problem. It is very easy to install. I think the most time consuming thing is removing the airbox.

Cool. Will be doing it this weekend. I have seen people complain about a clicking sound after installing QS. Instructions do say to lubricate the posts with WATERPROOF WHEEL BEARING GREASE. ?????????

I don't have any before and after pics, but in a nut shell the top gears (1,3, &5) the shifter location is maybe an inch from the neutral location. While the bottom gears (2,4, &6) are in the same factory location. Kinda strange for the first couple of days, but I'd recommend the TRD to anyone and everyone. Install is so easy(besides that u-clip, but channel locks make that easy), and it's just relocating the cable instead of ripping apart your interior and changing out your shifter. I have about 50,000 of driving with the TRD ss, and I can't imagine driving the car without it. Also look into the TRD shift ****. It is weighted perfectly and is the cherry on top of the ss. Words can't even describe the difference the weighted **** made to an already outstanding product

Just get it, you'll no longer feel as if your shifting with a baseball bat.

Check out the bottom of my thread, I posted pics of the shifts from First to Second with the TRD QS.

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...hlight=Toronto

It was factory installed so never got a chance to try and take pics of a stock throw. But it feels amazing
