Default TRD Version Coming in 2011?

http://www.7tune.com/scoop-2011-scio...t-trd-version/

The car is scheduled to have revised bodywork, suspension, exhaust and handling characteristics and it is just as well because the base grade left a little to be desired. But at just over $18,000 USD, it comes across as a lot of car for the money and Nagai san explained that Toyota will be fully supporting the development of aftermarket parts and tuning accessories for the Scion, and that the base grade was developed as a starting platform so as to offer customers the option to customize the car as they wished.
Something tells me that IF they release a TRD version it'll probably be just like an RS 5.0 or something. Lowering springs, rear sway, maybe add on a lip kit... and probably be well over $20k.

It's beginning to seem like this new tC is already getting more attention from a tuning/aftermarket standpoint than the "old" one ever got.

the mazdaspeed3 does have everything better and i agree its nicer looking than the new tc but that just means it got second place in an ugly competition. the ms3 is so not good looking at all!!!! just like the srt4 just because its fast doest make up for the fact that its a neon.

Don't forget you could probably also get a GTI for that much.

Well its obvious that people will modify these and since so many have done it to the 1st gen (hate saying 1st gen tC by the way) they figure why not get it going from the start with the new platform.

thanks i had no idea what that meant.

but its always like that. with a lot of cars, mustangs with the npi and pi motors and watever else. especially since the new tC has a bigger and more powerful motor.

i know the new tC is weird looking but sometimes thats what makes it stand out. evo, sti, superbird, delorean (non emission v all ugly but fast and people love them cuz you dont have to be pretty to go fast. to each his own though

I wonder if buyers get to wait a full year and a half and lots of speculation to have the option to purchase a $4000 turd charger again??? That was an extremely lame let down when I bought mine in 04.

So why is that stopping anyone from buying the TRD parts and putting them on yourself? The only difference will be a badge, which I'm sure you can even source that too.

Just because the manufacturer doesn't make it available in a fancy little point and buy package doesn't mean it can't be done.

yes it can be done, however when you go that route you have an over priced bad investment that for the money you spent on it you could have gotten 5-7 other cars that will blow the doors off it in almost every way
