Want Manual, instead of Auto
Hi guys! I'm new here, been creeping around without posting, looking at mods and such. Here's my story. I always wanted my next car to be a manual. I was planning on my tC2 to be a manual. But, i found out the tC2 has that "semi-manual" feature with the automatic. So, i thought that would be good enough to give me that "manual" feel that i wanted. Well, reaching 3,000 miles, im regretting getting the automatic. All i've done to the car was add the spoiler (myself), and threw in some hids and led lights that i can easily take off and replace with the old bulbs(i've kept them). If anything i've increased the car's value minus the lot drive off(whatever you want to call it).
My dealership is great and are very concerned about their customers.
How would the process go about with switching to a manual car? Would it cost me money? Would i get money back (doubt it)?Would my loan be affected at all?
Or would it cost me no money at all if i just complained about the vehicle saying i don't like it(wanting a manual, passenger b-pillar has a "popping" sound, and the sunroof rattles)?
Thanks

Any mods you do will not add value; the car depreciates the minute you sign & drive away.
Unless the dealer has an extended guarantee, returning your car will be like trading in a used car for new...I doubt your dealer is that concerned, and will stick it to you dearly in order to trade in your car for a new one.
Dealers will tell you what you want to hear, so that you will keep coming back; they want you thinking that they need your business. All they care about is selling lots of cars; and they don't make much money on the service side.
I do wish you luck, nolakpd504

Without trying to sound too harsh, you're stuck unless you have a few thousand dollars spare or are willing to have a higher payment. You bought the car, hence you own it. There is no buyers' remorse with an automobile purchase. If you want a manual-equipped tC you'll have to sell or trade yours in and buy the one you want. Personally I think you should cough this up as a learning experience and wait until your next car before getting a manual transmission. It's not worth the loss you'll take to get a new car now.

Dont lose sleep over it, its just a car. I have plenty of fun with my auto, and when traffic hits, or Im driving though town with a lot of stop lights, or parking on a hill, or at a drive through, or in a parking lot, or generally just trying to get from point A to point B, I sure am glad I have the auto trans.
I got an auto and I could have gotten a manual.
Just personal preference there.
I am more show than go. I am not going to race and I don't care about the people that hate on the auto.
I test-drove both and the auto has a very good amount of 'ooomph' to it to make me grin every time I drive it.
If I were you I would stick with it and enjoy the ride. You will pay quite a bit more when all is said-and-done to get a new manual.

I test drove both. The auto was still just as fun and so much nicer for city driving. I have always preferred manuals for lower maintenace costs and easier to upgrade clutch parts. The fun factor as well!
Keep an eye out, sooner or later someone who bought a manual will decide they really wanted an auto. Swap em' out, but the bank notes could be a hassle.
