went in for service came out with a 20 plus inch scratch
went in for service at the dealer where i bought my car. it was there over night I've been having noises coming from the break caliper so i had them take a look. of course they complained i had a cai and a header and tried saying its from that. so i go to inspect my car before i leave and i see a huge scratch along the bottom side of my drivers door about 22 inches long. i flipped on the service manager. so almost a week later i get an estimate and it's going to be almost 800 bucks to fix because it has to be repainted. the dealer offered to give me 300 because thats how much they think it costs. they want me to use there crappy local body shop and i want to use my families shop called martinos auto concepts idk if anyones herd of it but there the only shop touching my car. they are going to get back to me on giving me more money if they can give me 500 i'll be a very happy person.
If it's in an inconspicuous place like the bottom of the door, and you don't want to pay the difference, I would just let the dealer use their place, probably no difference in the process or paint, maybe the guy shooting it.
New Yorkers just want to suck up as much money as they can believe me bro, I feel ya. Where is your families bodies shop located because I have a friend of mine that wants to touch up his car bit he doesn't know where to go.
Thats WHY you never go to the Stealership if you can avoid it at all cost.
They dont respect your car.
I've had my old car go into a Stealership I had a car problem...came out w/ 3 new dents!

that happened to me as well. I got a nice 12 inch long scratch on the driver side door. I let them take it to thier shop bc if i wasnt satisfied, they were goig to do it again until i was happy. I would trust them only because ive had to do it. Mine came out flawlessly.

but yea, if the dealer ship is willing to put 300 in it suggests they might admit fault, in which case you might be able to get insurance to pay for it and their subornation might be able to go after them.

That's probably insurance law, which it doesn't sound like you're trying to go thru insurance.

westbury ny right by the roosevelt field mall. but I'm having the work done at martino in glen cove they specialize in stuff like this and there also doing some other work to the car.
no the 800 was going to be if they can actually blend and fix it they had the paint rep from PPG in house today and he looked at it and even agreed a complete respray of that side will have to be done and its gonna be 2500 bucks.
i usually go millennium toyota a better dealer that i know a tec at but i did not buy the car there bc they didn't have one. so i bought it from smithtown toyota on long island never will i use there service again. they scratched my car denied it at first and no they are willing to give me 300 bucks which dosnt even come close to the cost of the damage.
