Default Window auto-up?

Traded in my '06 for a '12. I keep tapping my window switch expecting the window to roll itself up, only to have to reach back over to the switch and hold it. Why the hell did the tc2 lose this feature and who knows how I can add it back in?

Found a post on another board that shows how to mod the switch on a corolla. Hoping they used the same parts in the scion. Don't feel like pulling my door apart just yet though.

yeah, that was a super lame thing to do by Toyota. I understand their was some cost cutting to make the tC less than 20k MSRP, but when you try to cut costs on a car, you do not do it on the things the owner/driver is going to touch nearly every single day.

the lack of an engine cover I can live with since it is just cosmetic, but plastic door handles on the inside, and no auto up for both windows really would bother me if I were to own one.

yeah what's up with cheaping out on the engine cover? I'd rather look at that black plastic than the silver valve cover lol guess i'll just have to get it powdercoated and shut up.

Basically as it was explained to me, Scion had to really pinch to get the car under 20k MSRP, so their was a lot of standard items from the first gen tC that were cut, and the materials used were apparently also a downgrade. It is a shame. They said if they were allowed to do a few grand more, it would have been a sweet car.

I looked at the 530t, but it seems like you need to use a remote. I need my switch in the door to do it. I drive through a gate on a military base several times a day. I was used to just tapping my switch up as I drove away from the gate while I put my ID away and simultaneously shift my manual transmission. A remote sort of kills the convenience of it, making it pointless.

Did some more digging and reading about the 530T and I found that it can be wired to the switches in the door panel. Guess I know what the first mod is going to be on my new tC.

I noticed this when the tC2 came out. Kind of ticked me off and makes me not want to get one. Also cheaping out on the engine cover. Anyway, is it possible to use the switches/module from a tC1?

This car has been out coming on 3 years and I figured there would be a full easy DIY by now. Swap out a Toyota Part and your done. I would use this every single day and this feature has been ripped out from under me. And seems like there is no confirmed feasible fix.
I can deal with the none engine cover, it can be powdercoated at a local shop.

you can use the 530t as a stand alone unit and it will give you one touch up and down. when you use it with an alarm, all it does is give you the option to vent/open/close your windows with the remote. just keep in mind if your interface both the driver and passanger window wires in the driver door, you will be able to use one touch up and down for both windows from the driver switch only. the passanger swich will be normal. to get the passanger switch to auto up and down you have to interface the passanger switch wires in the passanger door.

But hey, we got the beeping noise when we lock and unlock, that added some value to me lol.
There has got to be a way to get a module from another car that will fit, i'm tired of hearing about this 530t, its not feasible for everyone. I would atleast like an auto down on both windows. Like when I hit the Auto down on the driver side, it activates the pass side. I think that can be done with some kind of wiring hack.
