help guys!!! still cant decide on what springs to get...

TRD or Tein S-techs?!?!?!

i do get some snow here in chicago so that is kind of affecting my decision.

i am trying to decide as well i have been looking around and it seems like alot of people have been running the s-techs im pretty sure thats what im going to go with

 

Tires are a million times more important in snow than how low your car is...just so you know.

 

very true... im just worried about turning my bumper into a plow...

so far im leaning towars s-techs... but i still dont know...

 

yea mine isnt lowered now and my bumper is still a plow i live in ohio to

 

Look at your car and then imagine it 1-2" lower...Think that will prevent you from going anywhere?

Mine has been lowered all winter (with snow tires) and no issues. And I think us Canunks get a tad more snow than the windy city...just sayin!

I've personally never liked Tein products. Had them once and wouldn't buy again. But that's just me I suppose.

i have s-techs, i also live in chicago. driving through the snow this year was a little sketchy at times but the other 360 days a year they are fine except mine are really noisy.

 

ok... impulse buy!!!! i ordered the TRD springs already... i work at a toyota dealer. so the TRD's just screamed at me...

FACK!!!!! i just changed my mind again. canceled my order for TRD. going S-tech instead... if im gonna drop my car, might as well DROP it.. instead of a half a$$ drop... lol...

 

They are a "lowering" spring and offer no benefits other than the drop itself. Spring rates are junk, they handle like a sack of potatoes and they don't fair well in the elements in Canada, often rusting within the first 2 years.

I like the TRD's because they ride just a bit harsher, handle 10x better, and lower the car so the car looks more as it should have from factory, plus an extra 1/2".

I love my TRD's, but I'm sure in time I wont be the only one that does.

 

LOL. Difference between the TRDs and S-Techs is like 1/4 inch. I went with the H-Techs (because bottoming out is a potential problem for me) and while they ride about the same as stock during normal driving and flatten out the car in hard turns, I'd still go with the TRDs if I had to do over again. They're cheaper than than either of the Teins and if I can get a firmer ride, I'm all about it.

 

^ You must be right. I am a geek and I firmly believe, unless a car is in a show, it needs some wheel gap.

 

YEP... changed my mind again... but now its too late to change my mind once more.

my TRD springs are in!!!! now i gotta find time to install them...
