Default Install of the tein s techs

Next week I'm installing the tein s techs and I was wondering what the reason is for cutting the bump stop? What will happen if it is not cut?

It won't sit right. It is a necessary step. Cut it on the grove it tells you to and make sure you know which are rears and which are fronts. Use a small saw, no scissors or anything of that sort.

I never cut my bump stops and it rides fine/sits correctly.
The bump stops are designed to keep you from bottoming out the shock, cutting it will give you more suspension travel, but its not like the S-Techs lower you enough for that to be an issue. Tein says to cut them so go for it, but I have come to the conclusion that it is an unnecessary step...
